We at IPPT or the Irish Poker Pub Tour 2009
People involved are

Christy Smith and Jenny Hegarty ( Irish Open Winners who have over 20 years experience at the top level of Poker in Ireland)

We have joined up to form Poker in the Pub Limited who are sponsoring the IPPT to run the best pub poker league in Ireland for all level of players and abilities.

Our aim is to run an execiting and entertaining weekly game of cards, where Entry is completely FREE and membership for a game is only €5.
The national league will start in September for 12 weeks, we are targeting 250 venues nationwide. For our poker league players play to earn points by playing weekly games in the best pubs, clubs, bars and casinos around Ireland and make it to the grand final in December 2009 with prize pool estimated of about €50,000.

We will provide a trained tournament directors who will be responsible for running an efficient and successful game along with tables, chips, cards, dvd ect and all promotional material and advertising. (Many thanks for all tournament directors who replied to us, we will be in touch for national league in August).

We will launch a 4 week league in 10 venues or more in Dublin and Galway. This league is due to start on 8th June - 5th July 2009, when there will be €2,000 added to the prize pool by the sponsors so we expect the estimated prize pool to be €8,000.

All venues and structures will be announced next week.

7. Type of Tournament – Hold'em No Limit / Double chance.
8. Cost of entry and any subsequent rebuys/top-ups etc – FREE!
9. Cost of registration – ONLY €5
10. % of entry fee/rebuys/top-up going into Prize fund – €2000 added to prize pool by sponsor
10a. Is any money from the prize fund held back for future tournaments – N/A
11. Any guaranteed prize pool – Grand final prize pool estimated total at €8,000 and€2000 added to prize pool by sponsor
12. If applicable, Number of re-buys allowed and over what time frame/blind levels – 2500 rebuy any time after first hand up to the first break FREE!, OR top up at the first break, FREE!
13. Starting Chips – 2500

I presume its top 4 in the 4 week league, but could you confirm that?

hi connie,

its a 4 week league so points are rewarded every week so to ratio of players in each venue they go trough to the final. points given from 1st to tenth place. example 1st= 10pts, 10th =1pt.

we at the ippt have agreed with the card clubs that they can run the 4 week league in conjunction with there own weekly events, however this will be only for this 4 week league.
