Hey Is an employer entitled to give a new employee full time hours and put two part timers on call. (Their hours being those given to the new employee). Should the employer allow the part timers the opportunity to apply for the full time position or are they within their rights? The part timers have been working there…

Hey

Is an employer entitled to give a new employee full time hours and put two part timers on call. (Their hours being those given to the new employee).

Should the employer allow the part timers the opportunity to apply for the full time position or are they within their rights? The part timers have been working there under set hours for a few years. Their contract says they are "casual permanent".

Also I know I posted this previously, but is there such thing as a casual permanent employee? Does not make sense to me to be both casual and permanent, but open to correction.
