Ones in Aldi for a tenner and ones in DID for 80 euro and every price point in between How come there is such a wide variance in cost of them? Are the dearer ones far superior? Looking to hang a 40 inch tv on the wall and want to be able to tilt/ turn.

Electrical shops tend to add a significant markup to accessories because the person buying a large-ticket item is seen as a easy touch for the upsell. At one stage, Harvey Norman stated on their website that you should budget 15% of the price of the TV for the cables. This was before expensive HDMI cables were exposed as a total con.

The retail paradox is that the customer checks multiple retailers for the best price for the TV he's looking for, then goes into the shop and gets fleeced on the add-ons. You mentioned DID as being at the high end of the price range you quoted for TV wall brackets. Which proves my point.
