Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

All I know is that the first two are on the Radio Garden App! I never knew Zenith was on SW - pirate broadcasts? I assume you mean Zenith Classic Rock.

    That’s the one

Yes, I saw something online which mentioned planned changes. So this is expected.

I came across Galaxy FM on 102.9 yesterday evening

  • Registered Users Posts: 29 dxireland

I don't think it was galaxy they're off air Moving Mountains site

No activity today from the following

    92.0 Retro
    94.3 charity R
    99.5 energy

More often than not, Retro FM only broadcasts on Sunday.

It/s usually around noon Saturdays when Charity Radio or All 80s comes on.

The Energy relay/stream, recently on 99.5 FM, does not always come on for the whole weekend, although lately it has. Energy could be on 1395 kh AM but not on 99.5. Of course, if Energy has not come on at all at the time your post was typed, that would explain it too!

Update: Energy Power AM is on this afternoon on 1395kh AM. When I checked last (about a half-hour ago), it was not on 99.5 FM. Nothing was on 94.3 or 92.0 - I didn't expect Retro FM to be on.

Storms are not conducive to putting aerials up and TXS on when you are up on the side of a mountain.

Re the query on Galaxy and the UNID Dublin dance station , fairly sure there is no connection.

Galaxy seem to be hell bent on getting a signal into Dublin from Kildare which is no easy task.

I think it's the opposite they don't want to be broadcast in dublin
This is why they're jumping site back into Kildare
If I remember right a few years ago
They had a very strong signal reports from when they operated in Kildare Portlaoise all the way to CityWest then you would lose them

Couldn’t pick up FreeDAB in Cork today, Just Power and Caroline (relaying the UK station of the same name) on FM

A post on the FB Irish Anorak page stated that Breffni/Carousel came on air on Saturday on 98.4 FM. Output seems to have been recordings from it's run on air the mid 90's onwards, which itself featured a lot of country and Irish music.

Apparently the transmitter site is in allen Kildare.

But if enough pirate's came together and formed a super pirate wouldn't need high power tx just enough of them to cover a large areas

I think there was someone on last night, but in general it's on automation. Its very rare for FK to do shows these days.

The Beach have been popping up intermittently on evenings over the last month.

Incidentally, Paul Murray was live on Energy Power AM on 1395kh MW both yesterday afternoon and this afternoon - normally, he tends to be only on Sunday afternoons on ordinary weekends. It was also on 99.5 FM.

In recent years, it has been just the sites. I haven't heard of a studio being raided in some time.

    yes the same for me.
their stream is up but silent, silence is a semi-regular occurrence though so definitely just a site raid.

Stream is up but there is no audio. Nothing posted yet online from Power 87 that I can see, probably laying low as you can expect.

I don't know the landscape in Cork - were Power causing any particular issues, or was it just that their time was up?

My thinking would be that some of the full time stations in Dublin at present might go off Air now as a precision probably be a good idea if comreg raided in cork today Dublin might just be on there Rader next.
    Would anyone agree?.

Surprising to see comreg authorising action (whether by themselves or a contractor working on their behalf) during the current Covid 19 Level 5 national lockdown for anything less than a 'Type A' RFI complaint*.

Is this a prudent usage of the regulator's time and resources at a time when workers are mandated to (1) work from home wherever possible and (2) stay within 5km of workplace.

Hopefully the regulator thoroughly assessed the risks of contamination to the public and their staff when deciding to send a team cross the country simply to take an allegedly unlicenced broadcaster off the air? Interesting to see that decision-making process in discovery in case of litigation.

It's interesting to see that Comgeg seemingly took action against an unlicensed broadcaster during the current restrictions. They stated before that they wanted to complete more enforcement actions in 2020 – but were unable to do so due to the Covid restrictions.

So there must have been some urgent requirement to remove this particular broadcaster. Maybe some interference issue with the broadcast itself as opposed to any content issue?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,936 ✭✭✭JDxtra

Below is a small extract from the Spectrum Intelligence & Investigations Annual Report published by ComReg last September.

"Since March 2020, the restrictions imposed by the Covid-19 pandemic has limited SII’s ability to carry out several planned search and seize operations within this reporting period"

Very strange indeed, This action was also taken against Wild Country 103.6 in Louth and also to River 104.2 in Donegal in very recent times. Restrictions must not apply to Government agencies.
