Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Warmer still. You're two states away, Marty, so that should narrow it down a bit.

    Not Trento.

And I’m afraid I can’t confirm or deny the country yet bubblypop.

I’ll confirm now that it isn’t in Italy or a former Yugoslavan country. Josip’s guess isn’t a bad one, in terms of latitude.

    Ljubljana, Slovenia?

Total shot in the dark, but vaguely latitudinal to Trento.

Trains are Italian Inter City trains.

Looks like the photo was taken in late afternoon, it's flat, so could be around the eastern Po estuary region?

    FS.

I checked the whole north coast of Sicily but at the Straits of Messina I got distracted by Calabria and crossed over.

Even worse, we went to Taormina for our honeymoon.:(

That's the monument to the 10th Irish battalion that died in ww1, it's on the Macedonia / Greek border, in Macedonia though.
Can't think of a nearby town, I will look online, if that's not good enough!

    Well done Bubbly.
If anyone is ever on the road to Greece from Macedonia, it's a poignant short detour. That's the Duke of Kent in the photo btw.
