“The politically homeless” the ISF page is incredibly left leaning, its just another left splinter explaining policies in memes for millenials with 5 second attention spans. Nothing new at all

These Sinn Fein splits are getting a bit ridiculous now.

I've liked to page out of curiosity to see where it goes. I enjoy the ISF group but have no intention of actually supporting it in any way politically. I imagine there's a lot of people in the same boat.

Cake, and grief counseling, will be available at the conclusion of the test

A meme page has started a political party. In 24 hours it has already gained more popularity than two actual established parties Renua and Aontu.

Thats gotta hurt any of their voters/euro septics/anti-abortionists. A joke is more preferable than their parties.

shouldnt politics be about beliefs and ideas and not popularity.
only sheep go with the herd and all that.

As Principal Skinner would meme "pathetic"

I think a few of the original founders might have been student union types so it's not a huge surprise really.. better that they go on their own too that join a party youth wing and selling out straight away

You can laugh this stuff off but things like that could get traction. Look at the Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskiy - he was basically their version of Des Bishop before he turned to politics.

Bit of harmless fun that will inevitably annoy a lot of over-serious bores.

We'll see where it goes but a Facebook group doesn't make a party.

I'm sure many ex Cambridge Analytica employees and many elected officials would strongly disagree ;)

Interesting. Please name some parties that started as Facebook groups.

    The memes aren’t even good.

Liked by people who won’t bother voting and have 57 accounts for liking stuff that backs their views.

Will be laughed out of the place when tv debates and backing up your points come into play.

    It's good satire?

  • Registered Users Posts: 26,251 ✭✭✭✭noodler

I'm left leaning enough but the mods lock anything that doesn't agree with their ultra liberal viewpoints.

They've kind of disappeared up their own arse imo.

So it'll be another Nazi party then..

Do they give any solutions to the many problems facing our country or is it just click bait virtue signalling nonsense ?

    rhetorical question

    Are you asking me?
    I never said any did.
However its quite commonly accepted that Facebook and other social media channels and the inappropriate use of the data gleaned from those channels.

Allowed sustained and targeted advertising and campaigning that swayed a significant portion of the electorates in recent plebiscites and elections.

By covert and tailored campaign ads, maybe the IFM party are just gonna be open about their left wing spam campaign?
    Who knows

Over 800 people sign up to Irish Simpsons Facebook page political party

The Irish Simpsons Fans Facebook page, which has rapidly grown in popularity in recent months, now has over 104,000 fans.

    Admins/leaders
Jack Leahy, former deputy president of the Union of Students in Ireland
Paul Laughran, ran for People Before Profit in Belfast’s Botanic ward
Mr Leahy said the party’s philosophy was “progressive, critical, and a bit direct” and “in favour of an inclusive united Ireland”.

It's pretty funny how thin skinned the ISF page admins are when it comes to their own sacred cows

That's not really that difficult. Several venerial diseases would be more popular than both of those parties put together.

I see they are going full out in favour of trans rights and attacking ‘TERFs’.
That’s a real vote winner alright.

A leftist echo chamber that bans people who post memes they dont like.

Should find plenty of support from people who never set foot inside a polling station.

How will the ISF, a left leaning political movement on social media, hurt Aontu or Renua? The founders of the ISF are from the PBP party and the USI.

Of course not, just like the rest of the political groups and parties on the hard left.
