Not common, internal units seem to be picking up a few bits ( acogs/eotech/aimpoint/surefire lights even seen an elcan specter ) but the internal forces have a lot more freedom.

If your talking about army units even elite units there equipment is still pretty standard and yet to see much if any western equipment with these army units, although have been what appears to be western comms turning up in the forms of what looks like comtac headsets but it is unclear at to if these are russian copys or imports.

But the modernization of the russian army seems to be well on the way ( both army units and internal forces )

Edit: there is a little bit of debate as to if the western rquipment that keeps popping up is imported or if it was obtained from Georgia in the recent conflict

Three of my favourite aircraft of all time, A-10 'Warthog, F-16 'Fighting Falcon', AH-64D 'Apache Longbow'

Hate to get all pedantic about this but isn't that just a 'normal' Apache as opposed to a Longbow, the Longbow having a large dome above the main rotor assembly.........sorry:o

In Afghan society, a full beard is a mark of maturity. You simply don't get any respect as a man without one. Many of the SF units tasked with outreach missions to the remote areas have grown beards because a) they can, and b) it encourages the tribal elders to take them seriously.

Beards are also allowed in some of the regular Scandinavian forces.

You are absolutely spot on, I was so enthralled with the pic I failed to recognise that the most obvious D upgrade was missing, the FCR/RFI dome. Doh!

One of the other D upgrades was 'tactical internet comms', is that what we are doing here on boards?? :D
