Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Wouldn’t shock me if it was a Valentina Shevchenko vs Calderwood main event or something

Edit: think Shev’s medical suspension scuppers that actually

Hope a few local lads get the nod, give them a chance on the big stage.

I'd say I'll headline this. Best iron me communion suit for the post-fight presser.

Is Darren Till too big a name these days to headline this?

Depends on if he wins or loses next I reckon, if he wins he is, if he loses on a dodgy decision maybe him?

Arnold Allen will probably headline making the step up against someone like Stephens who would be knownish here for the who the **** is that guy bit.

    Charlie ward to headline

Ian Garry and Rhys McKee to be signed in advance of it is my bet!

As someone already said, pretty much all of SBG's major players are signed to Bellator. Hopefully we get a couple of American fighters traveling over to appear on it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,904 ✭✭✭✭Zero-Cool

Get Artem back, stick him straight into the main event.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,284 ✭✭✭✭rob316

There will be a couple of cage warriors lad signed for this. Ian Garry could be justified for all the **** he was taking from the bellator lads recently for what he said.

From the top of the stands to the bottom probably around 60 to 250. Floor more then.

    Last time the card was
    Poirier v Duffy main event
    Stipe v Rothwell co main

Until the whole thing fell apart a week out.

Hopefully they give us a few decent names.

Jared Cannonier needs surgery and hopes to be back by "fall". Might be a bit soon but him and Darren Till would be a treat as a main event.

+1 would love to see that fight. Darren Till, Dustin Piorier, Frankie Edgar would all be great potential headliners.

    Molly McCann v Joanne Calderwood?
Paul Felder v Justin Gaethje? (could be a nice stage for G to call McG out from)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,284 ✭✭✭✭rob316

I reckon you could see Darren Till headlining but August is a long time away yet, he will fight before that so it would depend on where he is at.

It'll probably be Edwards headlining and Arnold co main.

Getting abit carried away I'd say lads, no way till or Gathje or Porrier fighting in Dublin

Ah I dunno. Tyron Woodley’s fighting on the London Fight Night: same time zone as Dublin, not PPV, and probably same venue capacity.

London has about twice the capacity
    16,600 versus 9,500 in Dublin

He'll more than likely be commentating at it if he isn't fighting

If Poirier v Iaquinta doesn't happen; Felder v Iaquinta in Dublin?

According to Wikipedia, "unlike the UFC, Bellator does allow its fighters to compete in other promotions, so many fighters on this list may appear in MMA events outside of Bellator" so maybe we could see the likes of Dillon Danis, James Gallagher, Paul Redmond and the rest on this card?

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_current_Bellator_fighters

I wonder would the UFC offer Artem a one-off fight contract?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,397 ✭✭✭xtal191

Nobody from Bellator will be fighting on it

Dana White said in the post fight press conference that Till would most likely headline.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,204 ✭✭✭fitzparker

    Id say, Till to headline

then maybe use the oirish connection and bring Feldor and O'Malley in

Add the SBG stable of Makwan and Gunni

wouldnt be a bad card then.

That would be a hell of a card for a euro fight night

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,839 ✭✭✭✭callaway92

Sean O' Malley is a PPV player from now on I'd say. Won't be midcard on an Irish Fight Night card.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,204 ✭✭✭fitzparker

Not sure about that, Saturday was only his second UFC fight.

Would it not be better for his career to be main/co main on a Fight night card then be 1st fight on PPV main card?

They made the move very quickly on Adesanya,so I'd expect similar here.

He did the Main on a fight-night card in his third fight so it could be similar, but they're going all guns blazing here on O' Malley.

He was on the main card for UFC 222

Exactly - That was a weak card, so it made sense to have him on the main card compared to this past weekend.

He won't be on the Ireland card for sure is all I'm saying.

I think a few are getting carried away with the potential quality of this card. No reason why they would put on huge fights. They know it will sell out easy.
