Are Trump-style border walls the solution for Europe?

Can we at least get a say in what these walls will look like? I wanna see some 40ft iron walls with the bodies impaled on them, that'll show those immegants that we mean business :mad:

Your ignorance of the topic at hand is letting you down. People were never allowed into the USA willy nilly (that's the EU you're thinking of) The USA has one of the most stringent and thorough vetting procedures for immigrants and refugees anywhere in the world and it often takes years to get approved.

Trump however is trying to pander to his voters. Many of whom are ignorant and racist. So his executive order temporarily banning people (immigrants and refugees) from a list of predominantly muslim countries (Syria, Iran, Sudan, Libya, Somalia, Yemen and Iraq) is music to his voters ears. However when you actually look at it, it doesn't make much sense. Citizens from those countries haven't carried out attacks in the USA, and all the people from these countries living in the USA legally were all vetted before being given green cards/refugee status. Yet other countries such as Pakistan or Saudi Arabia who fund ISIS and essentially orchestrated 9/11 are not on the list. It has nothing to do with making America safer and everything to do with Trump consolidating his support base.

Some of the people now barred from entry acquired green cards through risking their lives helping US interests in conflict zones, and now they are being deported back to the countries they fled from because their lives were in danger. It's absolute madness.

For it to work in the US you'll have to:
A. Spend a huge amount of money to build it.
B. Spend an even larger amount of money yearly to maintain it.
C. Employ enough people to watch and cover all 2000 miles of it.
D. Be willing to shoot anyone trying to get past it.

Building a wall with Mexico is completely stupid, all threats at the moment are coming from ISIS apparently. Since when did Pablo the Mexican run into a building with a bomb strapped to himself shouting "Arrriba Aribba!!!"

In the EU it would be impossible, The UK voted to leave because they were paying "too much" and some of the Schengen states aren't even in the EU.

Plus most of the Continental Europeans in their 40s now would remember the DDR and the wall in Germany and how completely retarded that was.
