Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

BF's car turns 30 next year. Does this qualify for a reduced road tax rate ? If so, is it a flat rate or related to engine size ? Presently, he pays something like €358 p.a.

Flat rate on a private vintage car is €56, he will need to contact the tax office to have the car switched to this rate.

Thanks for that. Will stick it in the diary to do that a few months before renewal.

BTW I take it that 30 years is the actual threshold age for the vintage classification.

P.S. I see that an NCT is only needed every second year after turning 30 :)

Just remember it's 30 years from the date of first registration.

So if the car has it's NCT date on 1st December 2020, you won't get the reduced tax until after that date.

    Hopefully it's a January baby!
