Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

With all the news stories about the false widow spiders, I noticed this one on my shed wall.

    Is it a false widow?

Common House Spider. https://www.naturespot.org.uk/species/common-house-spider. I'm not an arachnid anorak BTW.

Thanks. The plain abdomen had me wondering.

It could be this one, a stone spider. https://www.uksafari.com/stonespiders.htm. It's not a false widow.

Found these two monsters in the shed. I left them alone in the hope that they take out a few false widows as there are a couple in there also but there is currently a family debate on whether they are actually false widows and the pitchforks are being sharpened for a visit to the shed.

    Anyone know what they are?

They're lovely with mascara-legs, giant house spider. They're no match for the false widow. I'd leave false widows alone unless they come into your bed.

That's it in a nutshell. Leave them be. With the recent NUIG studies and the subsequent hysteria afterwards, I suspect anything with eight legs is doomed.

Yeah, I've mentioned before I'd a Lovely giant house spider living in the garage nicknamed Ted, the False Widow made short work of him.

    Poor Ted.

All eyes on Kursk. Slava Ukraini.
