Just looking for some information as I’m a new parent joining the PDF, after the initial training do you get to see your family often? Apart from training details and deployments obviously

Outside of duties and other details, courses etc you will see them everyday.

It very much depends on the branch and your tasks. A navy patrol is about two weeks but could run to four weeks, usually two years at sea, two ashore, but it depends on staff available.
