Bike Recommendation

Hi All,

I'm currently a newcomer to Triathlon. I have been training for the past 18 months and signed up for Bantry Hardman and Youghal Ironman this year (hopefully they go ahead). With that in mind I have a question in relation to bikes.
I currently have a merida scultura

I would like to upgrade. I spent about 900e on the last one.
Budget for this one is probably 1500-2000e.

Hey,
Good stuff, hopefully they go ahead. Bantry will have a decent chance anyway.

For that kind of money you could get a decent carbon bike with 105 components. Availability is the issue at the moment with new bikes, and less value for bikes on sale from last season.

Are you looking for another road bike or a TT bike?
Are you planning to sell your existing bike or using bike to work?
Are you looking for a more aggressive or relaxed geometry in the new bike?

I'm not eligible for the bike to work scheme at the moment as I got my current bike on it just 18 months ago.
I will probably trade in but only expecting to get 4-500 for the current one.
I would be more relaxed geometry.

Thats a fine looking bike you have. disclaimer i did not even read it but it seems to have the basics you might have to think about first.

Would you not be better off investing in a new set of wheels to upgrade your current bike and as someone said a set of aerobars, a bikefit, powermeter/smart trainer. After a couple of more years if you are still doing triathlon invest in a TT bike and have your current bike as a winter bike with the good wheels on the TT bike.
