Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Clearly it's about putting bums on seats in big arenas.
Given Barney's popularity no surprise if he gets picked. Does Wade have a huge fan base? No
As previous poster said you could argue that Merv might deserve a place but again not gonna put bums on seats

    Your logic is flawed.

firstly darts did not need Barney to sell tickets, that is a myth and hold absolute zero truth.
You do know PL tickets are normally sold out BEFORE the entries are announced.

But lets play your game, what seats would barney sell out ?
Enlighten me, why would they need Barney when Holland for example sells out regardless, cos they still have MVG.

Is this the same Barney who has not won a ranking tv major since 2007....FOURTEEN YEARS AGO ?????

'Bums on seats' tends to mean more than ticket sales these days. Its moved on a bit since the days of PT Barnum.

There's a whole lot more now - social media revenue, ad revenue for the broadcasters, merchandising sales on the night, being able to squeeze the name sponsors for extra bucks.
I hate Barney as much as anyone, but I can see how there was a decent commercial case for having him in.

Except people generally do not want Barney.

Sky and the retarded kunts on comms can hype the lazy sweaty ex postman over and over and tell us he is one of the greats.
But saying it over and over does not make it so.

In fact take out late 2006 to late 2007, remove that one 12 month period, and Barneys PDC record is abysmal.
Never has a player rode one year of results like this.

Here is another fact, Barney dont care about the game, he thought when he retired he would be raking it in on the exbo circuit he needed to with an ex wife, new girlfriend, and a hair transplant to pay for.
If he got put in the PK he would be battered, and prove everything I ever said about Sky and the PDC not caring or respecting players who deserve the spot, but give preferential treatment to others.

As for the ridiculous notion that it has moved beyond bums on seats, do you seriously think more people will watch because Barney would get raped week in week out

or would fans prefer to see quality matches with in form top ten players ?

Stop drinking the comms kool aid, they will tell people anything because most people are gullible and stupid enough to buy it.

yet some people think a proven liar in barney, a player who will be lucky to get a tourcard, and would be battered week in week out ids more deserving of a spot in the pl over the likes of King, Chizzy, Wade....go figure.

    so it should be.

Sky and the PDC would have faced backlash if they tried stick the useless barney in after that

Not really bothered who wins here, plasterer or van driver (when that last happened in a big final)

Have a slight preference for auld Merv maybe, given his age

The 2014 final was painful to watch so I hope Merv wins it.

Judging by Jonny's reaction, I'd be pretty sure they knew they were playing for the last PL spot

    Team the ferret
Not bad going for a plasterer
    Played awesome

Fair play to Jonny Clayton and clearly meant a lot to him to win. Good to have some new faces in Premier League. Commiserations to big Merv, he rolled back the years and seems a sound man even if grumpy sometimes lol :)

I actually forgot the Masters was on until today and I stumbled upon it on ITV4! Is the next TV tournament the UK Open on 5th March?

It was advertised tonight, and it is the next event, as the premier league dates and fixtures have not been set yet, it has been postponed from the original date of February 6th

Looks like the only TV tournaments that have been scheduled are the UK Open and the Matchplay in July
Usually the Euro tour events would be starting March/April but no sign of them yet, for obvious reasons
