Beautiful image above of the eye of the cyclone.

Was recently watching the track of a Cat3 cyclone that passed Mauritius and Reunion earlier this month.
Don't often here too much here in Ireland about cyclones in the SW Idian Ocean.

Image at 0Z. Is that a gap in the cloud structure SE of the eye? Strange to see this so near to the centre of a well developed system such as this one.

Any idea on the maximum strength? Category 4 hurricane equivalent when I last checked it, beautiful structure :)
