Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Adrian Lewis had a decent run there but fell apart against Kleermakker as soon as his throw was broken despite been 3 nil up. Kleermakker sneaks into last Matchplay spot

Considering Durrant's age I can't see him ever being a top player again at this point.

he was never a top player.

Lets be honest, he was a good player who was cleaning up in the bdo, came to the pdc full of confidence, but nothing of note, except for a non ranking pl where almost every player was woeful.

The finals night that durrant won was the lowest averages in the history of the comp.
I said it when he joined the pdc he would have a free run for the 2 years but once defending the pressure will tell and he will fall away....and it will happen.

Cullen beats Price 8-6 in the end. Clayton finally into top 16 and knocks Ian White into the unseeded spots for the Matchplay.

No idea what he's complaining about here

he was complaining over the pause in the games.

Adrian lewis was pissed off also....he was leading 3-0 and lost

I assumed White was referring to Boris Johnson pausing the reopening in the UK?

Aspinall tested positive for Covid. Keane Barry forced to withdraw as he played him yesterday

  • Moderators, Society & Culture Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 12,294 Mod ✭✭✭✭Kingp35

That's very harsh on Keane! Could they not just test him?

  • Moderators, Society & Culture Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 12,294 Mod ✭✭✭✭Kingp35

Duzza dumped out first round again with an 83 average.

Lisa Ashton beat Steven Lennon, Teehan also out. Willie O' Connor through to the second round.

I was looking at the Rankings and Duzza will probably still go into the Matchplay as a seeded player. Who ever qualifies via pro tour will want to draw him first game

and durrant is defending 50k....watch him tumble down the rankings.

It's practically a walkover at this stage.

  • Moderators, Society & Culture Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 12,294 Mod ✭✭✭✭Kingp35

And to prove my walkover point, Duzza just lost 6-0 in R1 with an 82 average.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,166 ✭✭✭✭paulie21

What's the story with Duzza, struggling to get over Covid?

  • Moderators, Society & Culture Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 12,294 Mod ✭✭✭✭Kingp35

No, he was struggling before he got Covid. His throw is gone and he can't get it back. Similar to what happened to Wes Newton, Andy Hamilton, Mark Webster etc when they plummeted down the rankings.

I see no way back for him.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,761 ✭✭✭Dillonb3

2 days running now O'Connor beaten by Joe Cullen in second round.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,761 ✭✭✭Dillonb3

Bunting has dragged himself into the world matchplay race. If he beats Adrian Lewisr next game he goes level with Kleermakker in the last qualifying spot.

Adrian Lewis has had a decent run today

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,761 ✭✭✭Dillonb3

Durrant drops out of today's pro tour event:

    That’s desperate.

Did they quarantine the markers and ref from that match too?

Super Series 5 starts today and runs for the next 4 days. The World Matchplay qualifiers will be confirmed at the end of the series. Last chance saloon for the Irish lads to qualify.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,761 ✭✭✭Dillonb3

Mensur only major absentee but still looks safe to qualify for matchplay

  • Moderators, Society & Culture Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 12,294 Mod ✭✭✭✭Kingp35

Willie O'Connor and Steve Lennon both out in R1. Ciaran Teehan and Keane Barry both through to R2.

In completely unsurprising news, Glen Durrant was beaten 6-0 in R1 again, this time with a 76 average.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,761 ✭✭✭Dillonb3

Goes to show how bad Ian White has gotten recently. Since he dropped out of the top 16 he's only 12 in the OOM and not looking guaranteed a spot in the grand prix.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,761 ✭✭✭Dillonb3

Bunting vs Dmitry in the final.

Bunting should be safe for a Matchplay spot now.

Wattimena barely hanging on in the last qualifying spot

  • Moderators, Society & Culture Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 12,294 Mod ✭✭✭✭Kingp35

Barney creeping up the rankings too. Another good run could see him sneak into the Matchplay.

Duzza wins one today! A leg that is, loses 6-1 in Round one.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,761 ✭✭✭Dillonb3

Serious turnaround in form from Bunting. If he wins again today he could easily knock Clayton out of the top 16 in the rankings

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,761 ✭✭✭Dillonb3

Either Kuivenhooven/Mitchell or Dobey in the final. If any of them win it they'll jump into Matchplay spot.

Dobey wins and now occupies the last Matchplay spot. Lennon and O'Connor's hopes are probably gone unless one of them makes a final appearance, which is unlikely. Dobey will probably just need 2K over the next 2 days and hope no one below him makes a run to semis and he'll qualify

Jose hits bull with 3 darts in hand for a ten darter. love it.

gurney v mvg in last 32 was a cracker, mvg lost it 6-5 despite averaging 112 to gurneys 108.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,761 ✭✭✭Dillonb3

Gerwyn Price won against Heta in todays final 8-7

from 6-2 down aswell, think he won 4 legs in a row with 12 or less darts.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,761 ✭✭✭Dillonb3

Durrant out in the first round to Daniel Larsson of Sweden. Only 75 average

  • Moderators, Society & Culture Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 12,294 Mod ✭✭✭✭Kingp35

I think Duzza needs to try and completely re-work his throwing action from scratch or he'll be retiring very soon.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,761 ✭✭✭Dillonb3

Euro tour starts today. William O'Connor and Keane Barry involved in today's tournament:

Keane Barry wins his R1 match 6-3. Willie O'Connor also through the next round after getting a bye.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,761 ✭✭✭Dillonb3

O'Connor will meet Wade next round, Barry has Dirk Van Duijenbode.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,651 ✭✭✭US2

Price won it in the end, beat Smith in the final with a 112 average I think, unbelievable!

Keane Barry got knocked out in quater final by Smith

There's PDC events on every single weekend from now until December, every one of them wide open. Looking forward to Christmas already

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,651 ✭✭✭US2

The 7 best players in the PDC plus randomly Fallon Sherrock.. why not give that spot to the only woman in history to actually win a tour card, the only woman in history to average over 100 on live TV!!

She's not a young blonde and therefor not marketable enough.

Sherrock should win her first match and the get hammered by Price. These tournaments are a complete waste of time anyway.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,761 ✭✭✭Dillonb3

Dan Dawson with a bit of a slip there- "We got 8 stars of the PDC" 🙄

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,761 ✭✭✭Dillonb3

Deserved win for Razma, surprised PDC haven't tried to enter a Latvian team in the World Cup of Darts

  • Moderators, Society & Culture Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 12,294 Mod ✭✭✭✭Kingp35

They were in it last year but they replaced another team. They are much more deserving than the likes of Italy. I'm not sure how the PDC decide what countries are in it.

Well done Fallon. One win against a bum and now in the semi finals

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,028 ✭✭✭boomdocker

Collapse of epic proportions from Dimi.

Because of the pressure applied from 9-6 down by Sherrock of course

Fair play to her she closed the game out in style

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,680 ✭✭✭TheChrisD

After seeing Fallon make it to the final, I was expecting a bit of a demolition by MvG, but she managed to hold her own pretty well for most of the match.

I wonder if some commenters on her inclusion in the roster before it started might need to sit down and eat some words?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,028 ✭✭✭boomdocker

    100%

First TV final, played great, she looked calm and assured on the stage, that's for sure.

Can't think of many players appearing in their first final that have played that well against mvg in a televised event, most roll over and collapse

Why would we change our opinion of her being there ? We know she's a good player but she is not a PDC player, simply put there because she's slim and blonde. If they just wanted a women playing it should be Lisa Ashton.
