Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

We generally don’t close threads, even if requested by the OP. the main reason being that continued discussion can be wanted by other posters.

We do make exceptions, and of course, threads can be closed as part of moderation activities.

I suppose the question to ask of why you feel the thread should be closed?

The thread completely veered off topic and descended into a completely unrelated discussion filled with negativity toward contracting and several posts with false information.

I made note of this here:
    https://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showpost.php?p=110077379&postcount=67

Also I've seen many threads closed at the OP request. I don't regurlarly make requests like this so I want the thread closed so that the topic can remain precisely what the subject matter is: what the current contract rates are...not a debate about the merits or lack thereof of contracting

Anyone visiting the thread has to Wade through almost 70 posts to get to the information, most of which is unrelated.

Posts on the thread seem to have ceased so it may no longer be an issue, but I'll revisit again if it boils up

I am not seeing a strong reason to close the thread. People wish to continue discussing, and despite being the OP, you are not the owner of the thread. Ultimately it is up to the forum mods to decide if the thread should be shut.
