Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Dust & Sand, Dirty Rain?

I see a lot of what looks to be sand or dust on cars and windows this morning in SC Dublin. I'm assuming it was deposited last night. Any ideas on the origin, saharan sand or somewhere less exotic?

Fairly heavy layer of red/oragne dust on cars here too. From the Sahara, I would assume. Busy day at the car wash!

Same here in Offaly. Reddish colour, first thought was the Sahara sand. Southeasterly flow, been stormy over the Med recently.

Same here in Greystones, just washed the car and look out and it's raining again it's strange for once every car in Greystones is completely covered in dust, usually almost every car you see here is sparkling.

Usually happens once every few years in Ireland. Happens 4/5 times a year in Spain/Italy/Greece.

People just accepting that this is dust/sand from the Sahara desert.
Look at a map people! You're telling me a bit of wind carried dust from a desert thousands of miles away and dumped it on my car? That sounds like a level 9 bag of crazy to me.

No, there's more to this that meets the eye. I'll get to the bottom of it.

It has happened countless times before. People just don't have a good memory. And yes, it is from the Sahara.

Just be careful to remove all the sand deposits from you're car before letting a micro fibre mitt near it (sponges make shíte of it, as they collect everything on them). It will cause swirl marks and scratch marks etc. A good through blast of a washer will sort it.

Keeping it weather themed: the ground is still wet :P.
