Anybody know the diameter of a fired 303 bullet. Found a fired (I presume. No rifling on it) bullet so I am trying to identity it.

    Depends on what 303, a .303 british is 7.92mm

Could my one have corroded over the years. I presume it is from the 1920's.

used to spend a fair amount of time combing the back of the butts, in a former life, it could be a 7.62 hard to tell by the images though

That looks more like 7.62 rather than a .303

Found in the ground. No reasonable explanation as to why it should be there. No rifling marks on it. Or at least I cannot see any. Could the case have rotted off it and left the bullet. It is non magnetic so made from copper and maybe a lead interior.
