I got one of the new recordable 4K freesat boxes. Hooked it up to sky cables and seems to work fine. When i click the Netflix app though nothing happens - does anyone have this box?

    Thanks

Have you connected it to your WiFi? Any mention of WiFi/Lan setup when you first ran it?

Seems to be a rule with every sat box in existence , if you change something , then you have to restart for it to take effect.

That's a very common rule for lots of technology.

"did you try turning it on and off again" :pac:

How are you finding the new Freesat 4k recorder box?

We're still using the Freesat Humax Foxsat hdr since 2009

    Thanks

In the same boat myself, reviews online seem very mixed, some say it's terrible, others praise it. The video's on the Freesat YouTube channel showing the functions look good. If I am getting one I'd get the 2TB and swap my LNB for a hybrid so I can get the full recording functionality out of it.

Not yet, but it's good to see the 4k added for watching Netflix 4k

Finding it very good. Haven’t come across any issues so far - responsive controls, easy access to streaming apps etc. It’s my first non-sky sat box and seems pretty comparable to sky interface and performance so far.

I have it a couple of months and am very happy with it.

The only problem i have and it's only a small problem is i find the buttons on the remote quite small compared to the sky remote.

As an ex sky user, i would say the sky box was better in terms of responsiveness but it still a decent box.

Just note though that due to your irish ip address you wont have access to the uk players but can access netflix and youtube.

That's pretty good I've always found the Sky box software to be a bit clunky even the new Q boxes, and the built-in Freesat in our Samsung TV is really slow.

239 euro from richersounds for the 500gb box. They have a 1tb box which is slightly more expensive.

I ordered it online and it arrived in a couple of days.

Can you use the freesat app to schedule recordings/etc if in Ireland?

I had been able to do that on the Humax box, it takes a while to register on the box, 20 mins, but it worked.

Are you watching on a 4k HDR TV?

    Thank you
