These news stories read like April Fools Day jokes. The EU funding story would be hilarious were it not so frustratingly typical of the succession of inept and duplicitous Government ministers we have had to endure.

How come the hacks from Sligos' birdcage liners missed out on these stories? No doubt busy chasing the repossession and resale of local celebrities houses. Much more important.

With next years local elections looming, the usual political faces are once again popping up in the local press and will no doubt be attending all available photo opportunities including the opening of a bag of Tayto cheese and onion.

(But Minister Kelly puts a greenway on the short-list in his native NOrth Tipp. though it was not recommended in the first place!)

We're left out of something again..

Until we get a senior government minister in a position of power at the cabinet table. Poor oul County Sligo will always be treated as a backwater & afterthought.
