We want to replace the laminate wood floor in a room with carpet, how do we go about this? Could we/would we put the carpet on top of the existing floor? If not, when we remove that floor (how should we do that?), won't the carpet be lower and leave a gap under the skirting/architrave? If we go to a carpet supplier, do we…

If we go to a carpet supplier, do we just get the carpet or will an installer also be available to take care of everything including skirting/architrave/saddle?
