Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Touch site error message

    Hello,

In the last couple of days I get the following message on IOS 13.6:

An exception occured in driver: SQLSTATE[08004] [1040] Too many connections

I need to refresh up to 10 times for the site appearing correctly. It happens on the main page (threads not appearing) or when I open a thread (posts are missing and I only get the error message).

Am I the only one with this issue?

    Thanks

    Morning all,

There were some technical issues over the weekend, which likely resulted in this error message. Things should be back to normal again now. Sorry for the disruption.

For the last 10 mins or so. Site wasn’t accessible for a few hours for me, I was getting a mix of SQL and 503 errors since 07:30 this morning.

14 unread threads, no wait you’ve none, oh wait you’ve 14 again, etc.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,813 ✭✭✭One More Toy

    Site almost unusable

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,335 ✭✭✭Redsoxfan

Getting this and also a 404 error message with some poetry.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,813 ✭✭✭One More Toy

Unusable - 404s and not showing you the latest posts in my threads. Awful experience the past 2 days

At least there’s a funny error message though.

I love this one when you open the site:

“There are no recent posts available“

I’m lucky. I still have 14 followed threads with new posts.

    All day.

    Still unusable, any update?

The silence is deafening on this. It’s either a massive issue or they’re just letting it die.

Day 3 and its still a nightmare. No update, nothing

It's getting very frustrating alright. At least if there was some feedback as to when the issue might be sorted. Mods are quick enough to jump in should you say the slightest thing wrong. Should go both ways really.

Sorry guys, I had posted an update yesterday evening and this morning in the thread on Feedback but didn't realise there was another one here. Things should be a lot more stable for you now.

Ah well, it was nice while it lasted.

    Back with a bang today.

I just posted a thread about this I should have checked here first oh well. Trying to use the full site on a 4inch device is rather annoying

Happening for me too - I have given up on Touch and resorted to squinting on mobile full site view

I have a warning notice above box stating issues with forum and 503 errors and is been worked on.

We are undertaking some work on the backend today, but unfortunately this may result in some outages, delays, or 503 errors. We apologise for any disruption caused over the next few hours.

Have you got your notices switched off as not seeing them?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 24,644 ✭✭✭✭punisher5112

Jen and the black box at it again, she broke the internet....

Was actually thinking of watching the IT crowd again actually, the gif with boards burning might have swayed me.

Yeah errors still zinging up on screen but definitely an improvement to other days.

    Is it the Russians?

Hopefully this error will be less prevalent now, but we're still investigating root causes. Sorry for the disruption.

I've merged your thread into this one, just to keep related threads in the same place. Sorry for the ongoing issues.

Not looking good, it is happening frequently and is very frustrating. But it is Sunday Night so hopefully will be sorted tomorrow.

Not impressed at the frequency of these outages. But you may never see this post either due to the problem
