Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Just saw on Sky News that some women seem to think that Female Crash Test Dummies are not Female enough!.
    Opinions please?

    That’s not enough info even for a half-arsed opinion. Were they saying that female dummies can’t get jobs? Or that anatomical differences in dummies have a demonstrable impact on safety findings as far as women are concerned.

    Don't watch Sky news, but they could have a point. Crash test dummies have been almost exclusively built to represent the average younger man in a crash. Some dummies to represent women(and kids) have been used, but they're in the minority What research has been done has shown the average woman moves and is impacted differently in a crash. IIRC they're more likely to suffer soft tissue damage like whiplash. Being lighter in general their body also tends to accelerate more on impact. Being shorter on average they also tend to sit more closely to the steering wheel which can also influence what protections they might need and injuries they might sustain. So yeah more crash test dummies representative of half the population is hardly an ask.

    Rejoice in the awareness of feeling stupid, for that’s how you end up learning new things. If you’re not aware you’re stupid, you probably are.

    Use to be a tv series on sky called crash test dummies maybe they are bringing it back and she wants an all female cast.
