Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Oman make 148/9 in the end. A good win for our lads. Pity we couldn't take that last wicket.

Vital win as if Oman had won, top spot was probably gone.

Now a three way tie at the top. Ireland behind the UAE on NRR, who had a big win today, but they can certainly get top with a few big wins over the minnows in the group. Canada can go joint top with a victory over Nigeria later, but they haven't faced either Ireland, Oman or UAE yet.

    UAE - 4pts - NRR 0.805
    Ireland - 4pts - NRR 0.532
    Oman - 4pts - NRR -0.049

Canada beat Nigeria by 50 runs

    Namibia make 159/6 v Scotland

Scotland 2 wickets down early on, including Munsey

Scotland in real bother here v Nambia. 4 wickets down in the 15th over with the required rate over 12

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,578 ✭✭✭✭KevIRL

Scotland get beat. They were fortunate yesterday to get through the game v PNG as well

Jersey make 147/9 v UAE in our group

After a solid start UAE are in bad shape now in reply. 83/6 in the 15th over

Win for Jersey. Potentially a great result for us, should we win our last 3 games that is.

Fascinating tournament so far, pretty close groups. Netherlands looking good

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,578 ✭✭✭✭KevIRL

Yeah it really shows how on any given day a big upset is possible in t20. The scots are fortunate to be even in with a shout.

Looking ahead further though, they are a potentially dangerous opponent if we don't top the group, really wouldn't fancy ending up playing them in a one off match to qualify

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,578 ✭✭✭✭KevIRL

Oman restrict Nigeria to just 75 in 19.5 overs. They could do their net run rate some real good today

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,578 ✭✭✭✭KevIRL

Oman get there in exactly 7 overs

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,578 ✭✭✭✭KevIRL

Canada win toss and will bat. Huge game this one for Ireland

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,578 ✭✭✭✭KevIRL

Canada 64/1 after 9. Early wicket but a solid partnership being built now and run rate increasing

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,578 ✭✭✭✭KevIRL

Canada on 83/1 after 11. Bookies now have it 9/10 Ireland and 9/10 Canada

Dhaliwal on 53 not out and the partnership is 70

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,234 ✭✭✭VillaMad

This is going to be massive score by Canada.

    Yep Canada 8/11 favs.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,234 ✭✭✭VillaMad

Horrible drop by Adair. A straightforward catch somehow spilled.

    Next ball goes for six.

Now finally a wicket. Shot straight to a fielder on the boundary.

    Dhaliwal gone for 69. 124-2.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,906 ✭✭✭Barney92

Hopefully Canada try to go too big and end up throwing a few away. Even so, we should be able to chase down anything between 160-170.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,234 ✭✭✭VillaMad

Kumar gone now. Canada lose a couple of quick wickets trying the big shots.

    132-3 off 16.2 overs.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,234 ✭✭✭VillaMad

Another gone. Rankin bowls it on a beautiful length and Tariq can only spoon it up in the air to O'Brien.

    133-4 off 16.4.

Ireland 8/11 favs now. Canada 11/10

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,234 ✭✭✭VillaMad

142-4 off 18. Really good last few overs by Ireland. Can they restrict them to under 160?

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,234 ✭✭✭VillaMad

153-5. Run out as the off-strike batsmen tried to steal a single.

3 balls left in the innings.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,578 ✭✭✭✭KevIRL

156/5 in the end. No gimme

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,234 ✭✭✭VillaMad

Only 32 off the final 5 overs when carnage was expected.

The Irish top order are in good form. Let's hope they can keep it up.

Will still be a very competitive chase but a solid effort from Delany and Adair at the end after Rankin's wickets keeping them to 156 when it could have been 170+

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,578 ✭✭✭✭KevIRL

    Kob out

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,578 ✭✭✭✭KevIRL

Delaney in at 3. Is balbirnie still sick?

Presumably after his knock on Monday, why change it?

Balbirnie in at 4, I'd say.

Ye it looks like a good shout if Stirling and Delany can make some hay in this powerplay, I'd say Balbo would have come in at 3 if the opening pair lasted the 6 overs.

    40/1 after 4

    Massive six by Stirling.

Ireland 40-1 after 4. Well ahead of Canada who were 19-1 for at the same stage.

    Great start.

8 free runs last 6 balls. Chronic misfielding by canada.

    Edit: man, what a jinx!!

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,234 ✭✭✭VillaMad

Gareth Delany run out. Just what we didn't want.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,234 ✭✭✭VillaMad

    Balbirnie bowled first ball! 44-3.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,578 ✭✭✭✭KevIRL

Disaster. Need these two to knuckle down now

Balls. Run rate is fine, we need to slow down and keep wickets. There actually may be value in Wilson coming in here and getting 30 off 30 balls with Stirling staying in.

EDIT: It's Tector. That's good. But Wilson may very well need to step up and be counted here.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,234 ✭✭✭VillaMad

52-3 at the end of the powerplay.

Canada were 35-1 at the same stage.

Canada seemed to rotate the strike very well in the middle overs. Can we do the same

    Stirling gone. Disaster!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,578 ✭✭✭✭KevIRL

    Fooked now

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,023 ✭✭✭✭Joe_ Public

    This is crazy!

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,234 ✭✭✭VillaMad

Tector should have been run but the Canadians messed it up.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,023 ✭✭✭✭Joe_ Public

    Canadians giving them a chance.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,234 ✭✭✭VillaMad

    66-4 off 9.

    91 needed off 11.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,234 ✭✭✭VillaMad

    8 off that over. 74-4.
