Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Finding records

Back story is my grandfather was born to a woman who had an affair with a married man. My great grandmother didn’t know he was married & when she told him she was pregnant, he quickly vanished.

My nanny doesn’t know his name or surname, just that he was a barber in wexford in 1926/1927. I don’t necessarily want to meet his family, but I would like to at least know what he looked like.

Is there any way of finding this information?

There are directories. Here's one for 1931.

How you would pick your guy out, I don't know.

The 1925 census would show the ages and marital status of people should you find possibles, but it won't be out for a while.
