Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Well drilling adjacent to the sea

Does anyone have experience of boring a well approx 200metres from the sea?
The water connection costs are crazy so I'm in the process of researching drilling a well for my site. I've spoken to one Well Company and there's a 20% chance of salt water contamination and 80% chance of it working successful? Any opinions/advice? Thanks

I'm about 500m from the west coast and didn't chance it. Fairly hit and miss around me. Father and a few neighbors drilled for water back in the 70s and 3 wells came up salty. Others a few hundred metres further inland are fine, but I know a guy whose a mile inland and his well is salty for 4 weeks in the summer.
