Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I plan on building an extension to the rear of my house. There is a sewer line running along the back which picks up all the houses on the block. We are the last on the run. No manhole. Also its approx 6 foot deep. Our foundations wont cross the sewer but run parallel just inside the sewer. Approx 500mm away.. does anyone know the regulations on this. Thanks.

Do you know if it's an Irish Water owned/operated sewer?

For new developments, Irish Water require a separation distance of 3 m from their sewers to the nearest structure.

This may not be the same for extensions, but I'd say the same principle applies. At the very least, you'll have to give them notification of your works, and you may have to enter into a diversion agreement.

If it’s a public system then the way leave applies to extensions too.
If it’s private then the Building Regulations may be enough.

First off, confirm it’s private by going to your LA and they can check their maps.
