Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

ok i have to say never played againts koopa but have played against nemesis.

The screeny that was posted up with some character called eye with 101 kills or something ive played him b4 and he aint that good. also played a few maps of q3 down i waterford at a lan with nem while i ate my pizza and still won granted there were a few other playing as well.

I put my money on koopa.

Im goin on hols for 2 weeks this saturday so it'll have to be after that. As for a full LAN ill have to try get that sorted with Cybermart and see what they say, i dunno how many of you want to come so ill let ya know how many spots will be available.

As for Kracken or whatever your name is ive never even seen you let alone played you, and if you beat me good luck as ive never lost a game of q3 in waterford yet.

As for Koopa you have no idea what your in for, you think im scared??? You really are sad, and the more you hype this up the worse it will be for you when you get beat, because mark my words that is what will happen! You have no idea what im like 1 v 1 and you think because i havent made a name for myself in irish quake your gonna hammer me??? You really have no idea what your in for. As for the cash amount as i said the more the better ill see what i have left over after the hols and we can discuss it before hand. You just better work on that dodging of yours because it would be a shame to get hammered by a n00b

As for the maps i like the above idea of best of 3, one on t4, one on pro-q3dm6 and the decider on t2. Or whatever order you prefer. 10 mins per map, winner takes all.

i can see it now, 4 intrepid nurds set out on a big adventure , destination: waterford, the promise of a lan tourney with money making them salivate, only to find a field in the place of the netcafe.

but then, on the other hand, he's got a fair grasp of your game from his demo watching - your rl is arse, and you cant really dodge! just sit there with your hitscan weapons. pfft. your all point and click like zero sure, i've also hammered you.

IMHO, I believe that Nemesis can and will beat Koopa. I have played Koopa before and I personally think he is good, but not anywhere near Nemesis' standard of play. After all, Nemesis learned his quaking skills in the l33t town of Waterford, which has produced fantastic Quake players such as Beast and Damian to name but a few. Put this together with the fact that Koopa is a towel-headed diapar wearing arab who spends more time avoiding gaps (female gaps) than his cousin, Prince of Persia because of his homosexuality, I believe that he will truly be exposed as a fraud because he will not be able to use any of his usual hacks that he uses from home. (FACT: Koopa has NEVER played at a LAN before)
All in all, the victory will surely be Nemesis'.
He is outclassed, outgunned, undermanned and overawed.
That is all.

right it's settled then. everybody remotely related to irish quake, is going down to waterford to this lan. killy can watch via satellite linkup from sf. and if it is a hoax, we'll have enough nurds and pc's to have a lan anyhow.

Nemesis the nick i used was Spook and i did beat u in waterford in both cs and quake3. like it or lump it thats the way it was ask any of the ti guys who went down with me. you can deny it if you want which u probably will but we know the truth and u cant change that.

well sure lets make it interesting.. since so many people are going, how about 2 grand?
2000 euros is as far as im willing to go over a single lan(even if youre willing to go above it), as i'd feel guilty if i took any more of your hard earned cash (when i win)

if you dont have the money, you can pay me 1000 euros cash and give me the pc you played on when you lose, and we'll call it quits

ROFL. I played Koopa on an Irish server a couple of months ago, I had 80 ping, he had 50 ping. I was at my friends house so I didn't even have my own PC. I beat him 18 - 11 without even having a warm-up game. After that I was warmed up, and he wouldn't even play me again because he had a lot of excuses. Hes a good player, but Nemesis is right, he can't dodge, he can't use RL, and his LG is just AWFUL. All he can use is machinegun and railgun. He doesn't time megahealth, and he is too aggressive which means if Nemesis does manage to take control, we could be seeing a high frag difference.

No offence Koopa - I know you have potential, but QuakeWorld is what you're best at, and you should probably stick to it.

There is STILL is no demo of Nemesis, wether is be playing a BOT or another player and because of that, its ALL talk imho.

Sure I can beat Fatality 24-0 on a lan, on his favourite map, with one arm behind me back. Really.. I can... Honestly!

If this 'lan' goes ahead, I'll come down for a laugh, but in fairness, theres no way Id travel accross the country to play a guy whos never beaten anyone of 'skill', has no demos and claim's to be #no.1 in ireland!

Soz wasent on-line last night so i couldnt reply. Anyway got a few points to bring up, firstly i notice theres quite a few peps wanna go to this and tbh this will have to be set at a time when theres a LAN takin place in cybermart and tbh it cant accomodiate for that many peps, ill have a talk with the LAN organiser in waterford and find out just how many places will be available to go around.
As for the date it'll obviously have to be in august as im going on hols this saturday to spain
As for the cash involved i want to know exactly how much ur willing to pay Koopa, and before the duel i want it on the table. As for anyone who doubhts my ability the reason i havent posted any demos on quake.ie is because Koopa is gonna get the damn fright of his life and i dont exactly want him pulling out now do i ????

Pubs in staggering range and there is a room in CM which can be used to sleep in i think or do what one person did at the last lan and sleep in my big leather executive chair while i was playing Tekken 3

Heres a better idea,

Since Nemesis can't 'accomodate' people going down to waterford, why not come up to Dublin. I will pay for your train, plane or what-ever transport you require to get up. I'll even pay for your accomodation.

I will hire a netcafe for a couple of hours, I'll even bring a big overhead projector screen, a few crates of beer, a bit of music, some pre-match duels, spectators are welcome to come.

Now, whoever looses, fits the bill and pays me back. Fair enough? (said in my best don king accent)

eric i think the problem is that nemesis cant bring up his pc to dublin,

i on the other hand (with the help of vin-****) can bring my pc to waterford

also, if he has to pay all these bills after he loses, hes not going to bet me 2 grand on the outcome is he, as he'd only be able to afford like 1 grand after paying the bills

nemesis what speed is your pc? i assume we're both going to be playing on our own pcs (mines a p3-850)
