Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I would like to start this thread for anyone who has an interest in medals or collecting old ones.

The height of my GAA success was losing an U-14 final so the only medals I can get my hands on are the ones my brother won in late 90s.
This was the design of Derry medals at that time, now I think they have those generic medals with county logo in middle. This was a Minor League medal and they never even gave a box with it, they gave one of those wallets, nowadays even an U-14 league winner would get a box.

This one is from a competition that was introduced after a man in my parish bought a cup in honour of his son who died, the interesting thing about this is that the first club to win the cup was the club that the man played for. The game was between the North Derry Minor B winners and the South Derry Minor B winners. These medals were supplied by the owner of the cup rather than the county board. The most famous winner of this competition would probably be Eoin Bradley in 2001.

An under 12 medal of mine, quite nice for U-12 with the domed centre, I wonder what medals U-12 get nowadays?

I have spent time searching through photos of presentations to see the various medals given, they vary a lot, some are actually quite ugly. I have seen some beautiful pieces in Armagh, Wexford and Kerry have some beautiful medals. I also seen a Cork club giving their U-16 hurling team the cheapest medals on the market but I will not name names.

I would like to see photos of any attractive medals that you have regardless of the competition.
