Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

NEVILLE STAPLE FULL BAND PERFORMANCE (THE SPECIALS/FUN BOY THREE)
"Best known for his work writing songs and sharing lead vocal duties for The Specials, and as one of the founding members of Fun Boy 3, Neville Staple is credited with changing the face of pop music not once but twice. The Specials are one of the most loved groups of all time due to their association with the Two Tone label and their leading role in the explosion of the UK Ska scene in the late 70’s and early 80’s. They released 2 legendary albums and a collection of classic singles like Rat Race, Gangsters, Do Nothing, Too Much Too Young, Ghost Town and of course A Message To You Rudy, before breaking up at the height of their fame. Neville rejoined the band last year for a sold out re-union tour that included 2 fantastic shows at the Olympia in Dublin. Neville Staple returns to Ireland in December for a short tour with his 5 piece band, performing a set that covers all those Specials classics, as well as some of his own songs and other ska “old skool favourites”. He will be accompanied by his good friend DJ Trevor “The Selector” who will play a set of ska/reggae/dancehall tunes to keep you dancing until the early hours!

Demented Promotions Presents:
POP PUNK STILL LIVES #2
FEATURING:
SUCH GOLD (US)
6131 Records
(http://myspace.com/suchgold)
Such Gold has had several incarnations over the years, but in January 2009 the Rochester, New York natives officially solidified their lineup. Ben Kotin (vocals), Nate Derby (guitar), Tim Heald (guitar), Devon Hubbard (bass) and Devan Bentley (drums) had finally found solid ground. Later that year, the band reaped the rewards of their tireless efforts by releasing their much-acclaimed debut EP, Stand Tall. Now, the New York five-piece is ready to showcase just how far they've come with their brand-new EP on 6131 Records, Pedestals.
Citing influences such as Saves the Day, Hot Water Music, Boys Night Out, The Progress, At the Drive-In and Propagandhi, Pedestals marries the group's love for old school pop-punk, hardcore and indie rock, without alienating the fans that have latched onto the palatable sound on their first EP. "We all listen to hardcore," Derby says. "And even though we don't really play traditional hardcore, we play at the same tempo as most of the bands in that genre and we identify with the music and most of its ideals. We are definitely a hardcore band at heart". They hit the UK and Mainland shores for the first time this February and March.

FIREWORKS (US)
Run For Cover/Triple Crown Records
(http://www.myspace.com/fireworks)
"A band as colorful and explosive as their name implies, Fireworks is a group of individuals creating a sound with enough pop quality to keep your little sisters attention, and enough edge to rid them of "guilty pleasure" status. Hailing from stereotypically suburban metro Detroit, Fireworks is comprised of five electric personalities with endless influences. Together they create a unique blend of "infectious, well-written punk with an undeniable sense of melody."
After recording a handful of demos in early 2005, Fireworks received enough motivation to begin touring relentlessly, sharing the stage with top notch national and local acts while maintaining their exuberant personalities. In March 2009 they released their first full length "All I Have to Offer is My Own Confusion" and followed that with "Bonfires" EP in December of last year. They're musical breath of fresh air consisting of six energetic anthems serving as a perfect combination of catchy pop-punk, sing-alongs and infectious hooks bound to reel in hoards of future fans. "

THE JAMES CLEAVER QUINTET (UK)
"The James Cleaver Quintet met at a Chris Eubank convention in Hull. It was a love of good quality profiteroles and fresh water fish (particularly Sturgeons) that brought them together. They started off as an N-Dubz cover band, playing all the hits from “Papa Can You Hear Me?” to “Better Not Waste My Time” and back again, but cranking things up a notch by throwing a Bulgarian folk twist into the mix. To reiterate, The James Cleaver Quintet must not be allowed to get in the way of the bigger question: why are we here? They enlighten our lives daily, they brought up a generation and in conclusion, The James Cleaver Quintet truly is, The James Cleaver Quintet."

COMEBACK KID (CAN)
Victory Records
(http://www.myspace.com/comebackkid)
"Originally formed in 2000 by members of Winnipeg, Canada’s underground music scene, COMEBACK KID has amassed a catalog of four full-length international releases along with a live CD/DVD. Says vocalist Andrew Neufeld about the band’s origins: “We wanted to keep the intensity from our other bands or those we looked up to at the time, but also took influence from ‘90s skate punk and more melodic acts.” He continues: “We wanted the music to be heavy, but the vocals were meant to incorporate a bit more melody than was found in traditional hardcore. Still, I don’t think we knew how far we could go with it at the time.”
Since dropping their debut full-length, 2003’s Turn It Around, COMEBACK KID has been an undeniable staple of the hardcore community. Each subsequent release has built upon the foundation of its predecessor while continually experimenting with and incorporating new musical elements from beyond the confines of modern hardcore. Five seconds into the band’s latest release, Symptoms + Cures, though, it’s made clear that this time around, COMEBACK KID has pushed their output to a new plateau.
COMEBACK KID return to Irish shores almost three years to the date after they put on a blistering performance in the summer of 2006. This time they return to Dublin for an exclusive Irish show in Fibber Magee's and seriously, it's going to be pretty ****ing amazing."

D.R.I.
"D.R.I. (aka Dirty Rotten Imbeciles) were one of the first bands to fuse hardcore punk with thrash metal, along with Suicidal Tendencies and Corrosion of Conformity. Starting off as a speedy, straight-ahead punk band, they gradually mixed more elements of heavy metal into their sound; as they did so, their songs got longer and featured more sections and more variety in tempo. D.R.I. managed the then-rare feat of crossing over to metal audiences while retaining their skatepunk and hardcore fan bases -- they had something for all those audiences to love (or hate). Now D.R.I. come to Dublin on June 13th in The Grand Social! This is not one to miss!"

Demented Promotions in association with Tower Live Presents:
H2O (US)
Bridge 9
(http://www.myspace.com/h2ofamily)
"H2O is a band that had beginnings like any other band. No one could have guessed that a few guys and a former roadie from New York would start a band as a one-song side project and it would turn into a world-touring powerhouse. They took humble roots and worked their way to add their chapter to the long history of New York Hardcore and they would define the term “melodic hardcore” that would become so common years later. From 1996 to 2003 was unavoidable- four albums on Blackout!, Epitaph, and MCA records with over 300,000 copies sold, constant world touring with the likes of the Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Rancid, AFI, Pennywise, & the Used, Sick Of It All, the Misfits, 7 Seconds, and Madball, as well as runs on the Warped Tour-they established themselves as a household name and inspired countless others in their wake. In the pre-internet world of hardcore and punk, H2O was the band that blended the heavily-tattooed, unbridled rage of New York bands like the Cro-Mags and Agnostic Front, with the punk melodies of bands like the Descendents and Token Entry. It’s hard to argue that bands a decade later would take the melodic hardcore groundwork laid by H2O to wider audiences.
H2O, much like you’d expect, is hitting every corner of the globe spreading the word that H2O is undeniably back and finally playing Dublin this August 19th 2011"

Demented Promotions and Ouija in association with Tower Live Presents:
Agnostic Front (US)
Nuclear Blast
(http://www.myspace.com/agnosticfront)
"Legendary Hardcore/Thrash titans, AGNOSTIC FRONT, are back with another testament to the bands flawless legacy! Recorded at the now infamous Planet Z Studios in Hadley Massachusetts by Zeuss (Hatebreed, Shadows Fall), Warriors is the yet another landmark in hardcore’s history. Produced this time around by vocalist Roger Miret’s little brother, Freddy Cricien (Madball, Hazen Street), the bands message of family and unity has never come across stronger in their music. Warriors is a statement of strength in the face of adversity and few bands make a statement louder than AGNOSTIC FRONT.
In today’s civilization, people continue to suffer undergoing the grief, corruption, oppression and exploitation without a way to elude their troubles. Many have lived through these problems for ages, and the moment one tries to fight for what they believe is right, the elite brings them down and their voices are disregarded. For over a decade, AGNOSTIC FRONT has helped get these messages across to the populace to help solve these problems through socially driven music known as “hardcore.” In their latest offering, the band gives power and strength to these ignored voices. As one of the original hardcore bands that lived and breathed the problems that controlled their everyday New York City lifestyle since 1983, they have been amongst the most venerable and notorious outcasts of this hardcore movement.
These rarely confronted and always respected leaders of hardcore were established as one of the meanest-sounding bands in the emerging punk genre, helping to initiate the term "hardcore," and placing an entire uproar on the New York map by association. From the start, AGNOSTIC FRONT released a catalogue of fast and violent punk tunes consisting of distinctive and aggressive drumming, bass work, and a non-stop barrage of chaotic shouting. AGNOSTIC FRONT’s uncontrollable drumming and fuming guitars fill every minute like an onrushing storm of flailing limbs and incinerating transistors. The heavier paced balance between the energy and discipline of their earlier punk roots strikes a taut and vivid rock barrage that moshes in close formation. "It's social politics," Roger states. "The day-to-day reality of waking up, reading the newspaper, and walking around the neighborhood. It's a hard stare on why the world is still one ****ed-up place, and we tackle the very real **** that's going down: gentrification's running rampant, street justice, world destruction, working wages, and backs are still being stabbed."
Long outliving their now-legendary contemporaries like Minor Threat, SSD, Dead Kennedys and Black Flag, AGNOSTIC FRONT could easily live off their laurels, but their fight is yet over! Throughout their storied history, AGNOSTIC FRONT have been anything but a ravishing group of individuals living prosperously and content. In fact, the band is more akin to have experienced growing up in adverse streets, undergoing arduous times, serving time in prison, become inflicted with murdered friends, the list would go on perpetually. But while there are definite vestiges of the past affecting them, they manage to continue and expose the conflicts they had to undergo in a compellingly evocative approach by relating it to their views of the world today.
AGNOSTIC FRONT continues to be living embodiment that "hardcore for life" isn't an empty slogan or a musical dead end. No one is born with tattoos. No one's born hardcore. But when the ink or the music sets in, you're changed. Their latest offering reaffirms that AGNOSTIC FRONT as a band, still operates like a musical razor blade. Regardless of their history, the proof is simple: AGNOSTIC FRONT’s anthems are hard, cutting, and the remarkable music continues to broaden with every release. “We support UNITY! We despise ignorance and hatred within our scene. The only people we should be at war with is those who oppress us, not with each other. Unite! Fight the system! Not ourselves! Believe – Hardcore!”"

Bridge 9 Records
(http://www.myspace.com/polarbearclub)
"After their amazing show last year (pictured above) POLAR BEAR CLUB are coming back to Dublin on Sunday, July 17th for an All Ages show in The Pint.
When a band releases an album that is named one of the year’s essentials and “absolutely spectacular post-hardcore’ by Alternative Press, said band has a lot to live up to. That was 2008, then Polar Bear Club returned with an album that was even more groundbreaking than their last: Chasing Hamburg. Effortlessly seaming together the sounds of 90’s punk and hardcore – akin to bands like Lifetime and Hot Water Music – with a refreshingly 2000’s style and their own personal twist, this Polar Bear Club show is no doubt going to be amazing."

Demented Promotions Presents:
LIVING WITH LIONS (CAN)
Adeline Records
(http://www.facebook.com/livingwithlions)
"It has been a long and winding road since the band formed in 2007. From the start, there was something tangibly different about LIVING WITH LIONS – their trademark dynamics and anthem-esque melody – set them apart in the punk rock community. The sound is something exciting, fresh, and definitively theirs. They wear their influences proudly while cultivating an experience all their own.
“Holy ****” reveals a group of young musicians, songwriters and friends maturing and truly coming into their own on all levels. The album touches on all the hallmarks of good punk rock – angst, frustration, regret, longing and triumph – while staying true to the band’s definitive sound. “These songs are all about real people and situations that we’ve had to deal with,” says guitarist Chase Brenneman. “It’s something people can definitely relate to on their own level.”
2011 will be a very special year for the band supporting “Holy ****”. It took a few years, countless months on the road and a steady dose of adversity to get here, but the band has seen it through and delivered an album that, without a doubt, has been worth the wait.
LIVING WITH LIONS will play Ireland for the first time, exclusively in Dublin, on August 8th as part of their UK/Ireland Summer tour."

STREET DOGS (US)
HellCat Records
(http://www.facebook.com/streetdogs)
"At a time when the music scene teems with mediocrity and fashion-oriented bands that are simultaneously from nowhere and of everywhere, maintaining a sense of roots, politics, and place has become the band’s calling card, a way of demonstrating to the world that they most decidedly stand for something. The Street Dogs, it is somewhat of an understatement to say, are from Boston. Mike McColgan’s name was already indelibly linked with the city, as he had already made his name as the frontman for the Dropkick Murphys, the standard-bearers of Boston punk during the late 1990s. More than anything else, Street Dogs' latest release, State of Grace, paints the picture of a band that adamantly and unapologetically has things to say. Rather than serving as the closing orations for a punk rock band, the new album serves to put the world on notice that everything up until this point has been little but prologue, and that the story of the Street Dogs begins now."

KOJI(US)

"Evan Thomas Weiss (Into It. Over It.) and Andrew Koji Shiraki (KOJI) have made something "ten years overdue". The two prolific songwriters, who have been longtime friends, entered Drasik Studios in Chicago, IL for seven days in the summer of 2010 and collaborated to record ten new songs (five songs each) with the help of engineer Mark Michalik (The Swellers, Fireworks, Stay Ahead Of The Weather). This split vinyl LP release, featuring a tirade of guest musicians from bands such as La Dispute, Castevet, Cloudmouth and more, was released on November 23, 2010, and was accompanied by three documentary in-studio film segments shot by The Work (thework.com), as well as new photos and other multimedia content. These songs were an effort to bring to the public a friendship that has transcended time, distance, creativity and background. These are two best friends. This is what they made together.

Demented Promotions and Ouija Presents:
THE FLATLINERS (CAN)
Fat Wreck Chords
(http://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Flatliners/50897309740)
"Punk rock used to be about haggard road warriors. Before all the breakdowns and flat irons, there were busted transmissions and collect calls home. The Flatliners grew up believing in the later and rejecting the former, and after seven years playing together, they unleashed "Cavalcade" in April 2010, their third full-length record and an epic sonic testament to the life they’ve chosen.
Over the last four years, the Flatliners have spent almost thirty months in vans, dive bars, and concert halls across North America, Europe, and Japan, building up a dedicated following with a sound that mixes the endless fury of ‘90s skate punk with the nuanced, intelligent songwriting of classic post-punks like the Replacements and Hot Water Music. After releasing the ska-punk tinged Destroy to Create (Union Label Group) in 2005, the band evolved into a harsh melodic machine with 2007’s The Great Awake (Fat Wreck Chords), completing their transition into a vital modern punk unit with the Cynics 7" (Fat Wreck Chords) in late 2009.
This is deciated and hard-working band that is not to be missed! Support comes from The Arteries, The Upgrades and Give It A Year. "

Demented Promotions Presents:
TEXAS IN JULY (US)
Equal Vision Records
(http://www.facebook.com/texasinjulyband)
"TEXAS IN JULY’s sophomore full-length album, “One Reality”, was recorded in Hadley, MA with producer Zeuss [Hatebreed, Shadows Fall] last winter and takes their signature sound to the next level of intensity with wider guitars, technical yet to the point drumming plus a focus on improved song structure.
“We loved working with Zeuss, he had a very old school natural way of doing everything and we felt strong about what he had to offer,” states vocalist Alex Good. “He is a great producer and we were very pleased to have him be a part of the record. I think the biggest thing for us on the new record is that we finally stepped out of our boundaries a little bit, we broke a few rules, and really went for something brand new.”
Bassist and main lyricist, Ben Witkowski elaborates, “We put a lot of time into making sure that the transitions in the songs were crisp and that the vocal placements weren't just thrown into the written music. We worked as one big team writing this album to make sure that everything blended really well.”
Adam Gray’s exceptional, hard-hitting drumming and flawless transitions drive the album forward and showcase the musicianship of his fellow bandmates. Good’s signature screams of aggression shine through at the forefront, perfectly complimented by the intricate, staggering arpeggios and ongoing dueling riffs of guitarists Chris Davis and Christian Royer. Witkowski’s energetic bass lines bring the band’s sound together, bringing the punch and groove of a pop-punk band, while staying true to their heavy roots.
By attacking the heartbreak of deceit and embracing the optimism of love, TEXAS IN JULY unleashes an emotional lyrical fury, heavier and more intense than ever before. “One Reality” captures the process of moving forward, moving on, and growing as an individual. The album charges forward with a constant sense of urgency and aggression, passionately explaining the importance of following the path that you believe in, in order to make the most out of life and the one chance you have to become who you truly want to be."

D.R.I. were one of the first bands to fuse hardcore punk with thrash metal, along with Suicidal Tendencies and Corrosion of Conformity. "

FFO: The Chariot, He Is Legend, Norma Jean, Rock 'N' Roll, Good times.
"Every Time I Die have never been an easy act to categorize and that's one of the key reasons why the band's fans have never turned their back on this innovative act's unique brand of music. While the band started out in the late '90s hardcore scene, over the past decade they've continued to evolve and push the boundaries of heavy music, a process that's culminating with their sixth full-length Ex Lives.
It’s impossible to deny that in an increasingly stagnant musical climate, Every Time I Die are still pushing the limits of their own sound—and Ex Lives is aural evidence that after over a decade together they're anything but complacent. "I had to prove myself 100 percent from the beginning like I did when we put out our first record to show the other guys in Every Time I Die as well as myself that I could do this and I couldn't be happier with the end result," Keith summarizes when asked to describe Ex Lives. "This feels like a new band in a way… it's just its own thing and that feels really, really good."
Don't miss out on this show! Every Time I Die are a live act that needs to be seen! Seriously. For ****ing real."
