Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Yeah, I'm assuming it has something to do with religious nuts and abortions.

OP, could you offer some thoughts/opinions rather than just a news link? Newsdumps are against the AH charter.

    Why not?

Do you expect us to sit here and twiddle our thumbs until the real story is divulged? I think you might be missing the point of a discussion forum.

Or perhaps until we get confirmation Islam is not the only religion to spawn extremists.

Shooter reported to be white male, middle aged. Hostages taken, barricaded in center, multiple people shot. No casualty count at present.
Looks like a pro lifer gone awol. Not a muslamic raygun.

Yeah because there is many other predominantly Muslim ethnic groups whom practice religious terrorism. The Islamic world stretches beyond the Arab countries.

These attacks on abortion center are rare, though, and they're usually carried out by lone wolfs. Islamic terrorism is usually carried out by large organisations and are more common.

We really should stop immigration of Christians from the region.

No he is doing God's work. Christian nut jobs seriously think by killing abortion doctors and blowing up abortion clinics, that it is morally right and justified. Its not just a story line in Orange is the new black. I guarantee there will be a plenty of people who believe this shooter has done no wrong.

There are countless abortion doctors who have had several serious assassination attempts against them.Read about this Doctor that was murdered, in his church during service! There is plenty of anti-choice groups who believe his murder was justified.

Only one way to do that get all the sides involved in the conflict to sit down and work out an agreement that will help make a political reconciliation between the communities most impacted by the slaughter.

I suppose Christian extremists in the USA have a release valve to stop them going full "DEUS VULT!" (or whatever the crusaders' version of jihadis' "ALLAHU AKBAR!" was) - have you seen Ben Carson's poll results? :pac:

No. Air strikes will make it better.

    Reddit livethread, for anyone interested.

There's been several minutes of silence on the police scanner. Safe to assume this means the cops might be initiating some plan.

Conservative Logic: Life is precious. Now let's shoot inside a Planned Parenthood & try to kill people because only abortion is murder.

Thankfully it's a small number of murders/violent incidents associated with such people - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anti-abortion_violence

I think there was a law passed or something to prevent people harassing people going in and out of these places. Could be related to that.

We should have a database of pro life people. :pac:

We really should stop immigration of Christians from the region.

Why? Christians are not generally known these days for their zeal for murder of innocent people, unlike another specific religion we could mention. If this guy is killing people in the name of Christianity, I think it's pretty safe to say it's an anomaly, and not something we generally need to worry about from other people of the same line of faith.

If we end up with Christians on the news every other week beheading or suicide-bombing people in the name of their religion, then you will have a point.

Has it been announced whether this guy's motives are religious or are people just jumping to assumptions?

Leaps of faith in the literal sense.

I doubt many atheists would identify as 'pro life' in the context of debate about the subject.

Being opposed to abortion in any circumstance is only 'pro life' in the eyes of those who choose to ignore science and facts

Actually Christians have done that plenty even in recent times, it's just that the media in other Christian countries doesn't report it as much. Just look at the fundamentalist Lords Resistance Army, who have killed over 100,000 and led to the displacement of millions over the last 25-30 years, you don't hear of them very often.

Yeah, Ireland hasn't had any domestic terrorism threats/bombs/scares in the past 40 fcukin years...

Also has one of the most active bomb squads in western Europe, per head of population I believe.
