Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Is there any way to stream Saorview or any way to stream the basic Irish channels? Legally.

My tv is in a location thats not easily accesible with an aerial cable without the missus going crazy. Is there any way, wirelessly or through the internet to get a saorview signal to the tv?

I have broadband but no interest in the 100 olus channels all the companies want me to pay for. All i want is rte, tg4 and virgin. Any ideas how to get this?

There is another forum for Cable and IPTV. This recent thread might give you some help. Saorview is just a name for a selection of channels, and it is only via an aerial.

If you have a Smart TV connected to the internet you should be able to get the RTE Player.

If you don't mind getting 'down & dirty' with technology, then yes you can use an aerial and feed the coax into some convenient spot where you place the tuner box which in turn will distribute the Saorview channels on your LAN.

You can do something similar if you erect a Satellite dish, and make those 100+ channels available on your LAN ..... paying no subscription.

Sounds like a plan. Any instructions on how to do something like this or similar? Or what i could search for and ill have a bash at it. I presune i could leave saorview box in the attic and use powerline plugs etc to do this?

There are some threads on the subject here

The effectiveness of the powerline adapters will depend almost entirely on your environment ..... interference; how your wiring is done.

Here are two related threads from me ...... but there are other threads and other ways to achieve similar results. If it interests you then read other threads also.
