    It’s going to be no different to the pubs that are open now except that you don’t have to order food. The same rules are going to apply otherwise, table service and 105 minutes etc

    Ye are quite optimistic about your fellow men. Before the pubs opened, people couldn't socially distance, some pubs are open and most I've seen can't enforce this. It'll only be worse at the end of the month.

    At least I have a well documented excuse to not attend anything for the rest of the year.

    I hopped in the deLorean there to have a look, I was curious myself, maybe people would have a new perspective on things and the streets be full of the joys of reconciliation, the awareness that any slight pandemic could put on hold our lives, our social lives, indefiantly and to look out for our fellow man and be understanding...

    Nope. Just puke, angry drunks and empty fast food wrappers everywhere.

    But with this, it seems to be "someone else's"responsibility. The pub won't do it, as they're making money, the people socialising are having their pints, and there's no actual law to move people.

    So people need to get their head around the fact that it's on us who attend the pub to call out bad behavior. Same as if someone cut you in a queue or lit up a smoke.

    I wonder did the people who took those photos/jumped on Twitter, actually say anything at the scene?

    If we don't make it socially unacceptable among each other, what do people expect to happen? A big guardian angel will see a tweet and come and sort it out?

    Would you say something to a group of people who are drinking, people who haven't been out since March? I wouldn't, I like my nose and teeth.

    I get that but that's the point I'm making. We need to make it acceptable/a group mentality that it's okay to challenge someone on this. You would challenge someone smoking at a table indoors beside you wouldn't you? And you'd feel safe enough you'd be backed by other punters.

    Sorry, don't mean to be harsh on the tweeters. But it did annoy me to see Simon Harris getting on the bandwagon. The man who was a minister for health and perhaps could have looked at legislation to prevent what he's now moaning about.

    Useless now throwing it up on Twitter Simon.

    Challenging anyone in that crowd would have been pointless. It's supposed to be about individual responsibility, but yet again people have proven that they couldn't give a rats arse about the regulations and guidelines, as long as they're having their fun. Mentioning it to anyone in that crowd would most likely have started a fight. I hope every premises involved in that crowd gets some comeuppance. It should be on the pubs and bars to close, they have to adhere to regulations too, and they're just flouting it because money. I'm doing my bit by not even contemplating going to a pub, because this will and is happening.

    Wave 2 will happen.

    Fair point. Actually I agree with you. Think in my first post I was a little hot headed at the scenario 😂. You're right. Also fair point from pgj2015.

    I just think it's hypocrisy from Simon Harris to call it out, when he could have implemented legislation to prevent it in first place.

    To be honest with you I wouldn't challenge anyone smoking in a pub, that is up to the people who run the pub to stop not me, Im just out for the night, im not working.
