Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I was listening to the song The Wanderer by Dion...

And I only realised then that it's the same group that sing Runaround Sue!!

How come when he 'roams from town to town, happy as a clown', he's called a cool name like The Wanderer but when Sue does it, shes called a Runaround??? :pac:

So AH what happened, did Sue break his heart and then he became The Wanderer or was he The Wanderer and Sue gave him a taste of his own medicine?

Equally good songs though I must say :D

This is another right tune about a man given the runaround by some wan gone off with another clown. Listen carefully

Early 60s double standards, you know!... two great tunes though. I prefer Runaround Sue, it had me bopping around the room, that or the bottle of Chateauneuf du Pape.

Let's be honest here, Sue is a slapper!

The Wanderer likes slappers, and slappers like him (even though he can't be arsed to remember their names).

He is also a self regarding wanker.

    They deserve each other.

Would a song of infatuation ever be sung about a man being a prickhead?

Nope, but there's one about a woman!
She can wound with her eyes
She can ruin your faith with her casual lies
She only reveals what she wants you to see
    She hides like a child
She can take you or leave you
She can ask for the truth but she'll never believe you
She'll take what you give her as long as it's free
    She steals like a thief
    She takes care of herself
She'll carelessly cut you then laugh while you're bleedin'

Yeah, she sounds a little high maintenance to be me, Billy, tbf.

Gave up the skirt, now I gotta hear it from the street
How dare you drag my name in the dirt and cheat
You could've broke it off and ended it and dip
And if you spoke soft we could've still preserved the friendship
Now you apologize, that's what they all say
You wasn't sorry when you sucked him off in the hallway
But have it your way, raw, no foreplay
That's you if you want a dude who wear a mask all day

Fine line between a heartbreaker and a slut alright. Not sure which side of the line Paul Young falls on.
For I'm the type of guy who gives girl the eye
    Everybody knows.
But I love them and I leave them
Break their hearts and deceive them everywhere I go

No, just what you posted buried. I did listen to Oneohtrix Point Never a few times, the one you posted before with Val Kilmer. I like the song but the video of him looking so old freaks me out a bit :/:)

I reckon Robert Palmer was being a bit cheeky with Addicted To Love..if you look at the dancing girls in the 'band', they are slightly different (some very thin, more curvy etc) but all the same at the same time...and the first lyric 'the lights are on but you're not home'! :D
