Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Been meaning to post this since Friday.

    The Chemical Brothers. Star Guitar.

Its a view from a moving train with landmarks outside the window matching repeating beats or notes from the music.

This thread makes me sad for music nowadays, is there any proper classic videos made in the last 10 years?

Blank space by taylor swift is quite good, esp the apple scene.

Also check out the nigerian parody by Falva'This is Nigeria'
I would avoid the uk one however.

You know the greatest music video does not have to be high budget fancy graphics.Irish artists do amazing things on limited budgets.
I only seen this video recently but it is excellent.

    The Smashing Pumpkins- Tonight, Tonight

Me thinking the video is so good is probably highly weighted by the quality of it's soundtrack

For sheer cool it’s PSBs West End Girls for me honorouble mention for Bitter Sweet Symphony for originality but West End Girls is the best.
The grotesque doll in the shop window, the rubbish blowing around the deserted fruit market, Neil striding across the concourse in Kings Cross station in that long leather coat, the girl in the hat smirking at the camera. It captures the menace of any capital city center in 3 minutes. A masterpiece.

One by Metallica is pretty thought provoking

As far as I'm drunkenly aware, the song was based on the Dalton Trumbo film Johnny Got His Gun. And to avoid paying royalties on the video, Metallica bought the rights to the film.

It's a brilliant song and it ties in perfectly with the video/film.

I’ve always thought Pearl Jam’s “Do the Evolution” was really impressive... you certainly have to admit a lot of work went into it.

Bjork had some that stood out. I remember when these came out and i think a lot of her songs take time to grow on you so the unusual videos kept you watching and listening.

Good shout with Bjork. She was always good for a standout video. I know she had a few made by Michel Gondry whose videos never disappointed. Massive Attack Protection would be another good one from him actually.

Well first time I watched it it just looks like crappy train footage,I didn't get it. Only when you look closer the various sounds correspond with or are represented by the various objects in the footage which is a neat idea.
