Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Ya, 2s on the page made me assume that. Not wasting 8mins of my life unless kneemos can sell me on it. If he can't provide some kind of summary of 8mins here, then there must not be anything of substance in it.

From what I can see he has loads of videos titled unpopular opinions, mostly political or social in nature.

Again it appears you are making presumptions.

No one is going to watch your crap videos. Do you seriously think David Attenborough is out to get you? He's ancient at this stage, what does he have to gain?

I have seen his video and as far as I'm concerned he's an idiot no presumption. Now I have asked you a couple of times so last time do you base you claim that sea levels are not rising based solely on the questions posed by the idiot on YouTube. Surely when you make a claim the onus is on you to back it up.

I've already said sea levels are rising.

Dude you need to read stuff.

So you admit sea levels are rising but post a link to an idiot disputing the rising of sea levels. Makes no sense .

Already did, so once again is your claim based solely on the Youtube whack job or do you have any proper research to post to back up what you claim?

Can't watch an eight minute video in under three minutes.

If you did watch the video you'd have seen the evidence of the misinformation.

I'm going to with the experts. YouTube videos dont cut it. Learn to distinguish.Between better sources.

People have already decided where they stand on climate change. Everything is judged to be either hard evidence or fake news depending on whether or not they agree or disagree with the issue.

    It's pure confirmation bias.

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

He's not disputing sea level rise . The video is about misinformation.

Look I can't hold your hand all day.

Must be watching different videos so . You're not holding my hand at all. You make claims but when asked to back up said claim your only source of research is YouTube whack jobs.

"CO2 is plant food, why do you HATE PLANTS?"

All joking aside that was my natural response to concerns about carbon emissions for a long while. We have very little atmospheric CO2, and increases of carbon dioxide should result in higher levels of photosynthesis, so the whole thing should balance out in the long run.

I hadn't really taken into account that the single greatest producer of oxygen is oceanic plankton, and acidification is threatening that. Also, if the oceans become deoxygenated (which has happened at least once in Earth's history - causing the single greatest extinction event we know of), then atmospheric methane is likely to get a very, very dramatic spike.

Following up on my previous point:-

Two more impending reasons/disasters to add to the list now:-

    https://www.bbc.com/news/science-environment-48043134
    https://www.rte.ie/news/world/2019/0429/1046290-un-nature/

The only solution to the human pyramid scheme (Population) and capitalism for that matter, is to have disincentives for large families and/or actually benefits to those who decide to refrain/reduce the number of children they have.

Obviously there needs to be a gradual change and the aging population imbalance will need to be managed somehow.
I suppose the first step it to try to stop the increase??

Not really, nations put global controls in place (e.g banning CFCs), and after a couple of decades the ozone hole has diminished as a direct result!

Nope. People came together, worked out a solution and implemented it. Now the hole is getting smaller.

Whats strange about Attenborough is that he spent a good 2 decades proclaiming population increase as the greatest threat to the environment and humanity. So did just about every other environmentalist of note.

They seem to have dropped that concern now. why is that?

Birth rates are going down fastered than predicted in the 60s and 70s. II've seen a few articles saying we might reach peak population around the 2050s.

Reckon it won't be that many years until Attenborough joins him up there in their air-conditioned heaven.

The earths climate is constantly changing I don't believe it's man-made

As said earlier our economies are based on growth this sort of is at odds with climate change prevention. I believe it'll be impossible to shift big industry/governments enough to stop the destruction. I recycle as best I can however the amount of flying (for work) I do nullifies the drop in the ocean my green bin is contributing.

There's a reckoning coming, hopefully some of us survive.

And in your 40 years, you haven't noticed the climate doing more and more weird things every year, no?

Oh that's right - the climate has already been changing. But never mind the fact that changes that used to take several millennia are now taking place over a couple of decades!

What's BS is people not realising that drinking out of paper straws and having bananas coming wrapped in paper instead of plastic is not going to save the planet while you have thousands of aircraft in the air at any one time and having population growing exponentially.

Is the planet going to explode or something?

Attenborough still seems to me to have an exceptionally sharp mind, and he's never seemed interested in towing anyone else's line. I'd be damn pleased to be myself and so fully lucid at 92. It's impressive.

Gotta have reasons to deny though, right?

Funny when himself and his comrade Bellamy were asked by the BBC to push climate change propaganda both knew it was bull****. Bellamy refused to be part of it and Attenborough decided to follow the money while Bellamy was quickly dropped by the BBC. So he did in fact tow the BBC’s line.
