Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Fabricated outrage. How do you expect to receive water if no money is to be spent on it?

    Motor tax does not directly fund Irish Water.

    The Local Government Fund has income from:
    * General Purpose Grant from central government
    * Motor Tax
    * Local Property Tax
    * Some legacy funding like NPPR
    * Other income

    The Local Government Fund then spends money on:
    * Councils
    * Local Government Management Agency
    * Irish Water

    Most of the Irish Water money is then given to councils, who still do a lot of the day to day work and will do so for the next few years.

    Motor tax doesn't collect enough money to pay for all work to roads.

    The General Purpose Grant more than pays for Irish Water.
