    Hi

I have an iPhone 7 plus, on the latest ios etc

all was working fine up until a few days ago

I can make and recieve audio calls, problem is I cannot hear anything via the handset, and the other person cannot hear me either, only way I can get it to work is to use Bluetooth.
This applies to normal mobile calls, whatsapp calls etc

The physical wire headphone port does not work either.

Any ideas on how to resolve?

Can you open a voice memo and record yourself?

Can you hear audio on other apps like YouTube?

If so, I would suggest firstly doing a restart, then possibly a reset of all settings, and finally, if that doesn’t work, a restore.

Make sure you have all data backed up first.

Also might be worth restoring to new (rather than from a backup) as this can sometimes reintroduce the glitch.

    thanks for reply.

voice memo record does not work (i can hear old recordings ok though)

I can indeed hear audio on youtube

Will a reset of all settings mean I have to reconfigure a lot of stuff?

Did you damage the headphone port?

no, but the phone handset itself does not work for audio
so not directly related to the headphone port

Yea resetting the settings will set them all back to default but will keep the data on your phone.

Either way you will need to do some form of reset/restore to rule out a software glitch.
