I've been going to Belfast every Christmas for the last 10 years and I'm there each time for just under a week. My car is parked on the road outside the house day and night and nothing...absolutely nothing has ever happened it. Same with my parents' car.

It's quite a strange thing to be thinking about in this day and age.

Assuming nobody is that thick we'll leave it at the fact it's probably a troll

Taking what you just posted literally you're either racist or a complete idiot
Some of us grew up in an Ireland where we never thought we'd see the PSNI walking down O'Connell Street in uniforms waving pride flags :)

Anyway, the reaction here has convinced me to avoid it. A simple "No it's fine to park anywhere in Belfast these days" would have been fine, not the torrent of chip-on-shoulder abuse. They just about filled the O2 in Dublin when I was there, and Dublin is where the Irish gig should have been held to maximise numbers.

They sold our the O2 without much issue..

But yes, if that’s your opinion, Belfast is somehow dangerous for a gig, you’re better off

It didn't look to me like a sell out - there were rows at the back free. Tickets were available until quite late.

If they came back to the O2, yes I think it'd be a sell out based on word of mouth.

It's a stadium tour and they've pretty much sold out all the dates on the 2019 leg (https://www.rammstein.de/en/tickets/) and certainly in the case of Milton Keynes it sold out very quickly and I had to be on the ball at 9am so there's no reason to suggest a Dublin show wouldn't also be a quick seller in the likes of the Aviva so it wouldn't really make sense to add a single small arena on a stadium tour (not to mention their current stage is tailored to stadiums and wouldn't work in an arena).

As others have said, you'll be completely fine driving and parking in Belfast and it's really not something you'd even have to consider in 2019.

Either you are cutting off your nose to spite your face...or you weren't actually going to go anyway. It's your loss. Belfast is fine for southern reg cars. The venue is spot on too. I've been to Foo Fighters and Muse/Biffy in the past and I'll be back to see the Foos in August.

This is an absolute killer, I adore Rammstein (seen them live three times) but payday is a couple of weeks too far!
Being from Limerick, I'm not familiar with the capacity of the Boucher Fields, would it be big enough to justify picking up tickets in a few weeks I wonder?

    I would imagine so...but don't give off if I'm wrong :D

Haha I hope so. I remember panic buying tickets for the 02 back in 2011 on the minute they were released, and then seeing them go fairly casually in the months leading up to it.

Primarily I don't want to have to worry about where I park my Southern Reg car. And yeah I am pissed to be going to a concert in a place where I have to be concerned about things like that, when they almost filled the O2 only a few years ago - their promoter has ****ed up here in my opinion.

The dumbest post I've read on boards and that's some going.

Regularly in Belfast, been to concerts in Belfast I never gave a 2nd thought about my southern reg car. It's a belter of a city and I'm looking forward to this.

Was up there recently for a gig and people were almost universally friendly. Everyone offering tips and places to go/drink/eat. Brilliant city.

Rated the safest city in the UK now and walking around late at night there I agree. People just getting on with their lives away from politics

I was there last week - absolute hellhole. Once they saw a southern reg, it all kicked off...

((Hopefully that's one less person trying to get tickets :P))

Prices confirmed as £83.00 - £99.00 plus fees.

Thats very expensive for a field in Belfast.

Saw some videos of their gigs so far this summer last night.

The amount of pyro is jaw dropping even for a Rammstein gig.

That being said, it's not cheap.

How can you get excited about a gig that's a year away, that would drive me nuts, why can't you say, excuse can we have it now please.

If you want to get into it, you got to get out of it. (Hawkwind 1982)

Aren't you excited for EP 2020 and the inevitable Radiohead/Apex Twin headlining slots?

Midweek gig is stopping me going to this, between days off work and the price, hard to justify for me

Considering a mini European trip to see them. How likely would tickets for their home gigs in Germany to sell out quickly?

Not to put the sh!ts up you but moreso to inform you....the LIFAD presale for the Germany shows left members without tickets from what I can tell.

That's not to say that you won't get a ticket as there's only a limited number of tickets available for presale.

It wasn't too far off a year before the gig that the tickets were released for the O2 gig in 2012 and I'm as excited now as I was then :D

They have added a second night for all of the German gigs so that should help ease demand.
Saying that the demand seems to be huge ,they sold out some of the venues,Leipzig and Berlin in presale alone.

Is it not all one standing area? How come there is a range of prices?

I think that would just be the presale tickets, only a small amount would be allocated for that.

Not a hope they could have sold out the venue on presale tickets. more like all the presale tickets were sold out :)

Nope ,they literally sold out the venues .
You could see from the seatmaps what seats were available for each venue and for alot of them they put almost all of the seats onsale.
You could pick your exact seat off the map.

Must be alot of LIFAD members.
It makes sense though ,sell as many tickets as you can in presale for venues where a second date is to be added.

Would rammstein be known for bringing decent support acts on these tours or do they rely on there own reputation to get people in?

I've seen them about 8 times, 3 at festivals and 5 of their own shows and with their own show i honestly can't remember 1 support band, and if a support band is in any way decent i'll always make an attempt to catch them....make of that what you will

Yeah I was kinda thinking they wouldn’t exactly be inclined to have a quality packed undercard, pricy gig considering but they are known for putting on quite the show so I’ll probably take the hit.

no support act could improve a rammstein gig

For their O2 gig they had Deathstars. They were quite good.

The last I heard of support acts for this tour, they have French piano duo Jatekok and they are performing the Klavier album in full on 2 pianos.

Don't know how Rammstein thought this would get the crowd warmed up but then again, they're opening every show with "Was Ich Liebe" so things are strange in the R+ camp these days!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 522 ✭✭✭Stormington

Deathstars played at the O2. Their tunes was good but their little banner was raggedy even before factoring in Rammstein's spinning cock.
no support act could improve a rammstein gig
Ghost did a savage job at Slane. I would happily pay to see them on their own but they may be touring for the next year or two so may not be available.

Woop can't wait now, would love an O2 indoor concert again as the atmosphere was great at the last one but if the new pyro is a good as people say then outside will be worth it

Ticketmaster thought I was from the UK and wouldn't accept my postcode... took me awhile to realise the click other country button, which was a new one to me.

I wanted 6 GA but was given Feuer, wasn't complaining!

Need to take a moment to breath after that :P

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,499 ✭✭✭Sabre0001

Also ran into the postcode issue. Was throwing in eircodes, spaces, no spaces, 0000, 00000. Got there in the end at least! Should be a great day out :)

    🤪

Got 6 firezone tickets for Berlin, I am hilariously excited

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,303 ✭✭✭ionapaul

Checking again and it is letting me get one Feuer, but not when I search for two or three... anyhow, got the GA tickets so will stick with those I think. Was right up at the front of the Gold Circle for Metallica and really enjoyed it but think with the kind of show I'm expecting for Rammstein being back a bit will be fine too :D Yes, excited already.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,580 ✭✭✭Testament1

Ha yeah I've a Feuerzone ticket but from looking at the vids and pics of the current stage setup that you'd have to be about half way back the crowd to really take in the full scope of it!

Had the same issue with the Feuerzone tickets, couldn't get it to select 2 at 11am but when I searched for a single ticket it came straight up.

I then went on to encounter the post code error which when combined with a poor data signal nearly resulted in the phone being sent flying out of frustration!
