Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

There's no way Wigan won't be deducted 12 points

Luton and Wigan win and Charlton go down, how can you say they can't be caught, what am I missing. Wigan deducted 12 goes to 46 and win is 49. Luton win is 49. Charlton lose they're in 48. And Charlton have Leeds... With Wigan in great form

I'm on about Birmingham unless I misunderstood Kiwi's post

Why are Wigan getting a points reduction and why are people certain it will be 12 points?

Gone into Administration, its set in stone they get a 12 points deduction, EFL won't apply it till the end of the season though.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,463 ✭✭✭Kiwi_knock

Yeah my maths were a bit off, thought Wigan had a few more points than that. EFL confirmed that they will be docked the 12 points at the end of the season, but can appeal. Will be a bit of a wait for it to be confirmed and then any potential Sheffield Wednesday points deduction. Will drag on for a few weeks yet.

Whats the relationship between Leeds and Charlton like , is it good , bad or neither? Any reason they might go easy on Charlton and end up screwing Wigan?

Cant see there being any bad relationship really, no reason theyd go easy but the effects of drinking for days may impact a bit. Charlton need a win so can see them coming out fighting and getting the win, but taking it easy ain't the Bielsa way

Last game of the season, and it's at home when presumably they'll be presented with the league trophy, so I'd say they'll want to put on a bit of a show. Can't see them going easy on Charlton as a result.

Championship relegation could end up in court.
Hull, Barnsley and Luton are the bottom three, but Charlton, Middlesbrough and Birmingham are still not safe.

And above them, Wigan, Sheffield Wednesday and Derby are at risk of points deductions that could directly affect the lower half of the table.

Madness on the final day and it's only first half. Brentford up as it stands

Not anymore, Wigan look to stay up even with their deduction.

Disregard this post in about 20mins :)

All Brentford's good work for weeks to get themselves to a position to get automatic promotion and they **** the bed the last week :(

Hopefully they can pull it out in the 2nd half

Easy to do when no pressure is on. Not good form to be in with playoffs coming up

Wigan v Fulham is end to end. Plenty of chances, can't see this ending at 1-1

I think Swansea are one scored goal from finishing in 6th place? is that right?

OMG they've just scored it! 1-4

Free from edge of the box for Wigan, 4 minutes left

Swansea swap two CB for two CF and it looks like it might just have paid dividends.

Wigan nearly caught on the counter, 1 of 5 added minutes played

They are I think, Charlton down instead now.

If Wigan's deduction stands. But that's another day's work...

No mate, it’s Barnsley charlton and hull down I think ( pending any points deductions of course)

Forest remove all doubt now, Swansea have the last spot.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 40,061 ✭✭✭✭Harry Palmr

    Swansea have done it

With Rhian Brewster in the team they have a small chance I'd say.

Well sorry I'm going off Wigan losing any appeal.

Wigan down. Gutted for them after such a brilliant run the last while, very unlucky not to win tonight

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,295 ✭✭✭✭ctrl-alt-delete

Not sure who the Luton manager was having an argument with there?
Cracking job he has done since his return anyways.

Barring something freakish in Notts Forest's last two games, the final playoff place in the Sky Bet Championship of England will be between Cardiff City and Swansea City:P

    And whaddya know?:P

Brentford can't really have any complaints. Two games against bottom 8 teams an they lost them both. Wouldn't bet against Swansea in the playoffs.
    Happy for Bilic and Diangana.

All Welsh playoff final would be something.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,463 ✭✭✭Kiwi_knock

A lot of unexpected results, didn't think Barnsley had a chance of staying up and wasn't even looking at the final playoff spot. Happy enough for West Brom, I wonder how Brentford will handle the pressure of the playoff after their mini collapse. Playoffs are always impossible to call but Fulham might have the greater experience.

Another defensive horrorshow for Birmingham against a Derby team who couldn't have cared less about the game. Sad to see Jude Bellingham leave the pitch in tears, really gave his all for the club this season. These last 9 games have been sapping me of my positivity for football, so glad of the break but Birmingham really need a complete overhaul on and off the pitch. Can't have another season of circling the drain, luck will eventually run out.

Owners of clubs are the significant factor Nowadays, changing managers and personnel is tinkering at the edges and more often than not Blues Owners have got it wrong. They really need new owners with a bit of financial clout And passion for the club.

What a collapse by Brentford over the final two games.

Losing to Barnsley then getting hammered by Stoke, mental stuff. When will the relegation thing be sorted for definite? Could Sheffield Wed still come into the picture; 12 points deducted like Wigan got would send them down?

Definitely deserves its place in the humour thread. If they are doing this after one season, I can only imagine what they will do when Lee Camp leaves. Probably name a stand after him.

Just shows how out of touch the club is with its own fanbase. The fans obviously have a lot of respect for a player who came through the academy and ensured the club got proper compensation when he left, but absolutely no need for this gesture. Very embarrassing for the lad as well, will certainly tarnish his leaving.

Actually hadn't realised how well Leeds finished the season, I suppose all the focus was on Brentford's run. Great runs by Cardiff and Swansea to get the playoffs, and Luton and Barnsley to stay up. Wigan really couldn't have done much more to stay up.
