    Former pro Armand De Las Cuevas - ex Banesto (Indurain team mate) and Castorama - died aged 50 in difficult circumstances. I have a lot of memories of him racing in the early 90s.

    He won the San Sebastián Classic in 1994 so it would be nice if he was remembered tomorrow.

    May he rest in peace.

    Read the following earlier and thought it worth sharing - “he had a very difficult youth. Had a kid at a very young age, just as he was overcoming the difficulties that came with his youth. He got on the bike because it was a way for him to make money. Simply because he was otherworldly talented. Not a cyclist by choice, but there were hardly other ways to care for his wife and kid. His talent, though was unmistakenly there....”

    Was reading about it last night - the French press didn't hesitate to indicate it was by suicide. RIP
