    Hi,

I have applied to do grad med and should hopefully receive an offer for UL in August. However, I also applied for the Neuroscience MSc in Trinity and have received an unconditional offer. Although I have not started medicine yet I believe I would like to eventually specialise in psychiatry or I would like to possibly enter neuro pharmaceutical research. Do you think completing this MSc before starting medicine would be a good idea/would it be looked favourably upon down the road?

Thanks. I know that this is ultimately my own decision but I would really appreciate any opinions or guidance.

No benefit to doing a masters IMO. You already have an additional degree to most people graduating in medicine. The psychiatry training scheme isn't particularly oversubscribed.
