Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Out of curiosity, I was wondering if I won, how much do you think I should share with the giver?

    €25

If I won I wouldn’t tell anyone. Even the person who gave it to me hahahahaha

Trying to keep it off the wife's radar may be a challenge but I'm sure I could stick to my guns!

Anyway, I'm in, got one as a gift.

Getting slightly ahead of myself but are there any issues with a prize leaving the country?

I'm guessing a friend gave it to you, so I'd say 10k.

I bought one today. I don’t buy the lotto too often but since this one is not on too often I said I would get one.

I usually get one of these as a gift most years, none received this year so I'm going to buy one.

I'll report back here should I win the top prize, before reassignment to a better life.

She has her prize spent already.

If they don’t sell all the tickets are the number of prizes cut I.e. less €500 prizes given ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,489 ✭✭✭skinny90

Got my last one about an hour ago and it was up to 378xxx.

How do ya know based on the number you get ?

Don't think so, unless there is a special hidden clause upon another clause.

However they won't ever make a loss, as the prize pool for 500k sales was still only ever the guts of 37% of gross revenue.

They'll still sell (well) over 400k, by end of tommorow, and thus prize pool won't ever exceed 44.4%.

Estimate would be 450k sales, prizepool allocation thus 40%. With the remaining 60% split between profit making, some to good causes, and some minor operating costs (to cover costs of ads, admin and printed tickets).

I'm not a lotto person usually, but I kind of like these as Christmas present and always buy one for my Mum.

My Mum has her winnings spent already and for the short space of time (between Christmas and New Year) that people can dare to dream, it's worth the ticket price.

Of course when we win nothing, we will be effing and blinding and saying never again, but next year we will be back.

I prefer to dream upon a basis of enhanced outcomes (70-80% ^PrizePool), supplimented with studied calculated P+ factors to increase that even further.

Not with a starting basis of a mere 37%^PP, and a very high initial outlay. And from a source with a recent incident (media reported) showing an unresolved customer trust issue or contract breach.

I'm already cribbing about CAT and pension moving to 68, so 25 spent on this is just a bit of lighthearted fun at Christmas, nothing more.

Son and I bought one between us today , I hope at least one person from the thread posts later saying they won something !

Looks like it will hit the reduced forecast of 450k ticket sales.

Poster above is correct someone (1 out of every 75) i.e. after group spend of €1,875 may win.
With any win x15.5 more likely to be of €500notes than anything else.

Anyway off to win the Euromillions (picks) instead, with a book value upto 81.3%, even before P(+) factors are applied.

Not sure if I'd welcome a raffle ticket or scratchcard as a gift from someone. If you do end up winning you're left with the awkward conundrum of am I expected to split the prize with the gifter.

I never get this POV. I've bought loads of scratch cards as presents over the years. People have won varying amounts, upwards of €250 in some cases, and I'd never expect anything back.

'You'd never have an ounce of luck with it', as my GFs nanny is wont to say.

One person insisted I take something once, so I made them buy me the exact same scratch card I'd given them. "Now, we're even", says I. Won feck all, but that's life.

Anyone who would begrudge someone a win......or worse, expect a slice of the winnings!.......let's just say they're not the sort of person I'd be giving presents to in the first place.

Sales are open until 2200hrs, so shortly thereafter, perhaps half ten.
This is usually followed with a website traffic 503 crash, due to folks banging out F5 server refreshes.

  • Registered Users Posts: 133 ✭✭dickface

For those curious i bought one a few hours ago and the number was in the 399,000 range

Just bought 2 tickets online 477 xxx .... so the 500,000limit May be reached in the final hour, there was a difference of about 50 between the two tickets and one was purchased after the other (only one ticket purchase per transaction)

I work in a shop and thought that sales were definitely down. I’ve only sold one ticket in the last few weeks, I was even working today and didn’t sell a single one! Maybe it’s the extra €5 that is putting people off.
Anyway, best of luck to you all.

I think it was around 2-3, they might have had them printed beforehand, i wasn't paying attention to see if it was or not.
Can't believe the guy who bought one online said it was at 477,000 now :(

I bought one online at 21.30 & it was at 447k rather than 477k. Wouldn’t have had a notion of entering but then I started reading this thread and got carried away with the excitement....
