Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Insurance requirement long parked

    Has anything changed since the new legislation regards n plates?
    Original thread was from 2009 reads ''a request for clarification from Legal department and our Traffic Bureau HQ.
    Response was the S.I. ammended it in 1995 and stated drive. No mention of park hense why we stopped taking them for no tax    .''

    So if a car is taxed and just standing there on the public roadside with no insurance and no one attempting to start it, can it be towed by gardai? Can the owner be fined by Gardai?
    Lot of confusion there.

    If you have no tax then you can get a ticket from a traffic warden

    If you have no insurance you can go to jail.

    Parking is using and to use the public road a vehicle needs tax, insurance and roadworthiness cert if applicable.

    Article 41 is changed in 1995 to drive not use or park. See the links. Confused here.

    You might get an answer if you ask a clear question. It's hard to understand what you're after when you are daisy chaining other threads and posting snippets of other people's comments.

    Tbh, I don't understand what the question is. Parking with N-plates? Parking with out insurance? Public road?
