Your breakdown isn't bad, although I would disagree with that Japanese connection. I know that fighters often lose when they go to the UFC but
    1. Kid Yamamoto hasn't been the same fighter since his injury and was given a very tough fight for his 1st fight in the UFC.
    2. Gomi has been past his prime for years.
    3. Fukuda won that fight
    4. Omigawa won one of those fights
    5. Hioki is in his prime and training in the US (I believe) and Roop isn't actually a very good fighter

Also, big accumulators are not the way to go in the long run.

Fair points, im not a fan of accumulators, usually do big singles but there was no one on this card id be willing to put €500-1k on to win at the odds available.

You make a good case for Hioki, he looks good alright, i'll be very interested to see how he gets on..

For what it's worth my tip of the weekend is a €/£10 accumulator on Penn, Mitrione, Roop, Griffin, Cerrone, Jorgenson and Nijem wins you 250!

Skybet are doing a tenner free bet to new customers - HERE

Diaz seems like the best value I have seen in a while tbh.

Diaz forces a relentless pace and the cardio lacking Penn will eventually wilt imo.

    went for the double of
mitrione and diaz at 5/7+21/20 (lads)

i've a big bet on by my standards
I'm quite confident but after schaub and more
recently guillard i'm not expecting anything anymore

really like mitrione and can see him taking everything
kongo throws at him and winning
i think diaz will frustrate penn with his reach and win
    a comfortable points decision

was tempted by diaz points at 2s also

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,923 ✭✭✭✭mailburner

small bet with tiny stake for an interest

    doubles and trebles on

    crocop points 11/2
    roop points 9/2
    mitrione points 4/1

    unlikely, but you never know

20 notes on a diaz win at 2.08 on betfair. fingers crossed.

Cheers, and apologies if it's against the charter.

I know theres not much gambling excitement to be found on this card but I do fancy a punt on Brad Pickett at 11/10 to beat Renan Barao. Pickett always caught my eye when he fought in the WEC, especially when beating Demetrious Johnson.. Barao, although he's on a crazy 26 fight win streak hasn't really beaten anyone of note thus far.

Anyone have any inspiration for the other fights?

Munoz at 2/3 sounds good to me
Or 3/1 by decision sounds good too

I was just thinking the same thing about Leben at 15/8 (PP)

A Leben & Pickett double to win is just over 4/1.

I can't see Leben losing this. He's too good on his feet and he's not easy to take down.

fancy a big punt on Rua against Hendo - 5/7 on b.f

fancy a big punt on Rua against Hendo - 5/7 on b.f

    I've highlighted what i think's wrong here

Hendo is far too experienced and on a great run, putting a Big punt on him losing ain't the wisest of moves, especially after Shogun's last outing.

    Is this a 5 rounder?

  • Registered Users Posts: 288 ✭✭welchy

    Yup, 5 rounder.

I learned long ago not to bet against Henderson. A nice profit was made when he was 2/1 to beat Fedor

and i made some on that too, just fancy Rua to come really good. Think he will dominate Hendo.

I love Rua but don't think he is beating Hendo.

There has been some value recently within the MMA markets with Diaz, Hendo and JDS all overpriced.

I got JDS to win in the first round at 9/2. Way over priced IMO but wasn't complaining as I cashed out :)

I think Martin Kampmann is good value at 5/4, I don't see him as the underdog against Story at all.

Lost my marbles and went a bit mad on this one... Best case scenario is a return of €700 :D

    Worst case scenario, I lose €250 :(

I did these couple of bets just for fun. Only bet a couple of euro cause everytime I bet more than a tenner I usually lose horribly! :D

Overeem v Lesnar Odds are here.

Big difference of opinion between the bookies. I thin 6/4 Lesnar is a bit big myself.

Lads, Frank Mir is 4/1 with Paddy Power to win by KO/TKO... that seems pretty damn likely to me if their last fight is anything to go by..

Big Nog at 9/1 for a KO/TKO is even better IMO.

If he can KO Schaub then he can do it to MIR.

Both of these guys are too good on the ground to get submitted and I can't see it going the distance if they decide to stand and trade like they did last time.

My money is on a KO win for either of them.

It's 9/4 here which is more towards what I would have said it might be..

What would happen if you put:

    Jones
    Antonio R. Nogueira
    Soszynski

... on a docket in a bookies? It would most likely be taken in by on of the doddery women behind the counter, and not queried for it's ambiguity. Then, Jones/Soszyncki win, as well as one or another of the Nog's, and you claim that was the Nog you bet on when it's time to collect??

I am presuming bookies have last say in cases of dispute and could sever the ambiguous bet - and you can escalate the issue if you feel hard done by - but how strong a case would you have? I guess it would be akin to writing "Sheffield" or "Bristol" on a football docket.

The bookies tend to have a rule for every possible eventuality so id be guessing you would never get away with it.

It's not clear who you are betting on so its a void bet
You are supposed to but down the odds, which would clarify which fighter

So how's everybody parting with their money on this one??!

I did this accumulator to make it interesting. The main one I'd be worried about is the Junior Assuncao bet. But I just don't like Ross Pearson so I couldn't bring myself to bet on him! :D
Not the best way to gamble I know but sure it's just a bit of fun.

Lads, if you're looking for value then Paddy Power are giving 8/1 on Brock via submission!

    That's shocking! I've stuck €20 on.

My main bet is €25 to return €98.01 on a double of Brock via TKO & Cerrone to win.

I'll stick a proper accumulator on when I get the chance.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 852 ✭✭✭The Belcher

I've got cerrone to win on points at 2/1 and a small double on Fitch and Matyushenko.
Fitch a cert in my opinion and while I'm not overly confident on Maty at 11/4 he is a bit overpriced I think.

    Also did Lesnar at 13/10

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 813 ✭✭✭Shazbot

I've put a small amount on Cerrone by ko and Lesnar by ko. it's something in the range of 20/1 but they both have the ability to stop their opponents.

I also put an accumulator on Pham, Fitch, mathushenko, Cerrone and Lesnar.
