so you are looking at islands with ro ro car ferries? which is going to limit greatly .

see Inishboffin. but you woudl need to arrange a car there

omey is a tidal island so you can drive across if the tide is right...

valentia has a ro ro ferry

There are excellent web sites for the islands. and folk will help in advance

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_islands_of_Ireland

    https://www.irishtimes.com/life-and-style/travel/ireland/six-irish-islands-to-explore-1.3352039

valentia has two means of access; road bridge from Port McGee or ferry
    see

some i would say yes. You need to email them to make sure. Cape Clear looks hopeful.

Valentia you can access by bridge.

look at the list I sent; an email a couple with your queries? many are too small to have a ro ro car ferry but some will have eg taxi arrangements

    ah Inishbofin https://inishbofinislanddiscovery.com/wheelchair-access/

Bere Island is Ro-Ro and the road/path surfaces are quite good.

No but I investigated fully before choosing my home.

Some of the smaller ones cannot accommodate a large enough ferry to really be there for wheelchairs.

valentia I have driven to,, loved the slate quarry. Look high for the tiny statue of Mary up aloft..I was not sure re inishbofin but in any case I was seeking long term all year rental and they prefer to let for the winter only; same for Cape Clear. and i think Clare Island. But I am not wheelchair bound, just very limited mobility

    enjoy!

PS the one thing I hated re valentia... I was taking US friends out and we stopped at the much vaunted Skellig Experience site

    http://www.skelligexperience.com

    a sheer disappointment.

If you are getting to Valentia via road ie Port Mcgee, follow the signs near the village to KERRY CLIFFS./Highest cliffs

A breathtaking place I knew for years since before it was a developed facility ,

he has made it safe and awesome to view Skellig Michael and dramatic cliffs.. and delicious home baking in the cafe.

Not sure re wheelchair access but the track is wide and safe.

It was fantastic. Thank you very much for your help. We did three nights on Valentia Island, spent one night in The Westlodge Hotel in Bantry and did two nights on Bere Island. The weather was great and can't wait to go back.
