    Hi there

To keep it short. She has land from her mother that we plan to build on.

We have done absolutely nothing yet and I would like to go in with my eyes open so I’m looking to see if there’s any document I could download and study or anything worth reading? It’s in Limerick county if that makes any difference.

Other thing I only heard recently. I own a house, she owns an apartment which she could sell. We are not married. Is this going to be an issue? Should we try get all this done in her name before we get married?

Any help or advise would be appreciated!

The website below is handy. Also, there's plenty of info on the Selfbuildireland.ie website if you search for it.

Start talking to a local planning agent. Look at houses in the vicinity and check who designed them.

    Thanks lads.

Since spoke to an Architect who’s basically advised to get peculation done first, and he’s done the basics ie. Looked at the at the sight and the road etc and the surrounding houses to basically say all is ok to that point.

Going to wait for a bit of a dry spell before getting the percolation done.

Loads of time to read up over the coming weeks!
