    Hi all,

Got a quote for new windows in our house.

Happy enough with the quote, however when the man came out he recommended the double glaze windows over the triple glazed due the the good sub light we get at the front of the house. He said if we went with triple it would block the natural heat coming in at the front of the house.

The price for the triple glaze is only €1,500 more. Just wondering if I should go with that or take his recommendation and go double glazed.

The man is full of ....

Solar gain v heat loss. Reducing Heat loss wins every time
The reduction in light: double v triple, can be maybe 10% depending on glass spec
Get the best u-value for frames & glazing (overall u-value) you can afford

Hi just checked there, the U value for the double glazed windows are 1.0 and the triple glazed is 0.6 u rating.

    Is the 1.0 bad then?

    Thanks
