BTEA and SUSI grant while on erasmus to USA

Hi all, I was accepted to uni in New York state for one semester. Does anyone know how susi grants work while on a study abroad/erasmus scheme and are there any additional methods of funding for someone struggling on BTEA? It would be a missed opportunity to not go. I am studying science in UCD.
